There are dive bars and there are dive motels, this is both. Scurvy would be a solid description unless you are the type that likes to live in a mice infested 50's era establishment. The rooms have a wooden floor where at any point you feel you may fall through and as mentioned before has decor and smell from 1952. The bathroom door is unable to shut by a long shot and there is little to no lighting, obviously to make it harder to find the mouse poop that our room was covered in when we came back after a day of hunting. We are a bunch of guys that have "roughed" it plenty of hunting trips for many years. This was by far over the top, to the point where one of the guys in the group slept night two in the back of his work van. All I have to say is there is a reason this hole in the wall is for sale. If your looking for a cheap place to stay go to Necedah and stay in town it's worth the ten minute drive. The other reviews on here had to be written by the owners of the place because they are far from true. Bless your soul if your car brakes down in front of this nightmare and you are forced to stay because there is no cell service to try and get to town.

NO CREDIT CARDS--CASH ONLY for lodging, food & drink. It's an old motel, but relatively clean. I tried for 3 days to phone there, but only got a recorded message and got no return call. I guess you have to show up to find out if there's a vacancy which I had to do. The bar and food are decent however. They are closed Monday & Tuesday according to the website.

Fun little spot in the middle of the Necedah refuge, has good food, clean rooms and Spotted Cow on tap!!
