Picked up their Seafood Gumbo and Cobb salad. I couldn't find any seafood in the Gumbo but it had good flavors; lots of andouille sausage. The Cobb salad was fit for a Queen or King.

Wait time at bar and outside seating is horrible.
Staff was overwhelmed at 8pm on a Saturday with what looked like 60 - 75% of capacity.
We ordered margarita pizza, chicken nachos and moz sticks all were very good.

Let me start by saying yesterday my family and I had an okay time at this restaurant. The food was less than average. I've eaten better meals at Applebee's. I say that because the buffalo chicken wings were salty and the $25.00 sampler plate was very skimpy. 2 chicken tenders, 4 cheese sticks, a few calamari rings, burned imitation crab dip and literally 5 mid to small sized shrimp. Today both of my children have been experiencing upset stomachs resulting in them throwing up and having serve cases of diarrhea. The ambience was nice but the food was far less than expectation. When paying 25.00 for a sampler and an additional 25.00 for ONE drink that had no flavor besides cheap liquor, as a customer you expect better than average. I would have much rather spent 75.00 on groceries and prepared a meal for my family that I know for certain would have been safe for consumption.

Zero stars!!!! Gross food and even worse service. Orders were wrong, food and simple drinks took forever to come out. I don't know what was worse, the food or the terrible service. It took 2 and a half hours from when we sat down to when we left. We would've had better food and service if we went through all the local fast food restaurants. Instead of feeling like we were at a tropical get away, it was like being in a tropical nightmare with nothing to eat or drink!

The gumbo was gelatinous and mushy and cool. My water had a bug and dirt in it. I would have asked for new items, but we barely saw our server and everything took a VERY long time even though we were one of the only groups of people eating there. The salad I ordered was good and the food my family ordered seemed fine though.

Ordered cheese pizza (which tasted like chucky cheese pizza) and I unfortunately ordered the jerk wings that was rubberized chicken wings and had no heat. Tasted like old chicken . Than the mixed drink tasted like a boxed malt liquor poured in a fancy glass. I'm not even going to tell u about my wife's and our friends food.

    Story time (9/13/2016)

7.15: walk in sit down at our table. There are 4 of us.
7.40: visited for the first time by our server.
7.55: drinks make it to the table from the bar, I watched them sitting there questioning if I should just grab them.
Pause because other servers were awesome and helped us track down our server twice. Food runner was great too.
8.30: we tracked her down folks, ask for bill in case we do not see her again. Simple division of entrées between the 4 of us, no separate checks required.
840: check comes back. Our math be damned, we are paying this bill her way.

I live near by, I was really excited to come check this place out. Food was good. I do not know if I will be back.

I ordered the crab cakes which were terrible. Inside was mush and heavy crusted outside. I would guess these were frozen packaged crab cakes instead of local made. The crust was also very salted like it was added after. I had the soup which was good but just warm. Drink of Moscow Mule was done right but beware of the $20.00 hold fee to insure a return of the Mug. This is not an uncommon practice in the Milwaukee Area due to thefts by patrons. I Love the decor of the place and sat near the sandy area with fireplace and beach chairs. The Patio is the best place to be and brings you into the Caribbean. I will try again but something different on the menu.

I'm always looking for a great place to eat and Jimmy's Island Grill did not disappoint. I ordered the Fish Tacos and it was fantastic. My food was hot, fresh, and seasoned very well. I came in between lunch and dinner on a Monday afternoon and absolutely no one was in the place so I started to have second thoughts about staying and eating, but I'm so glad I stayed!
