The best place to vacation in Marathon. Great location on the water. Short drive to restaurants and stores if you need one. Half hour to Islamorada, and an hour to Key West. This last visit though, the pool was HOT like bathwater, and there was a lot of renovation going on. Not too quiet or relaxing from 8am to 5pm.

Stayed in one of the townhouse 3 bedroom Condos in August 2017. Overall, wonderful location, great pools, small sandy beach areas with little inlets, tennis courts, and awesome fishing dock. Great 3 story layout - lower parking area with screened in lanai, then main floor with kitchen, living room, bedroom, laundry, and bathroom; and third floor with master bedroom / bathroom and third bedroom with twin beds and a third full bathroom. Our condo was tired, outdated, and lacked some amenities that are just nice to have - ie. in lower lanai- scant furniture, hooks to hang towels, or extra pool/water/fishing items to use. While there was a vacuum, it lacked even a broom or bucket or other cleaning supplies. Kitchen dates but functional. New tile on main floor was nice. Upstairs Carpet very old. No ceiling fans in rooms. Two toilets had leaks causing us to have shut off the water in between uses and plumber didn't come during stay. It looked like several of the other condo were in various stages of renovations and some appeared to have nicer amenities.

We decided to take a vacation in Marathon Key and stay at Key Colony Point and two other condos next door. The view is beautiful and the condo we stayed at had plenty of room! Very clean and kept up. BUT I have never been treated so horribly in my life by the folks who stay/live here. We were asked to leave two of the pools since we were not staying in the rooms there (although the other friends we came with were) and we were asked not to have alcohol (although it wasn't in a glass bottle) and with a group of 11 (almost all above the age of 50) all want to spend our time together, that's what we came for. But were taken away that privilege since we all were not staying at the same condo. We were respectful, kind, and friendly. Then we were approached by a older woman asking to pay her $25 dollars because we were using their water (which was hooked up to the public dock) because she thought we were being wasteful when using it. No harm was done, but I am not sure if I will come back. There was a handful of nice people and the rest were on a mission to shut down any kind of family fun we were trying to have. I don't recommend this area if you want to come with a group, or if you are wanting to have a fun family vacation.
