I don't know where the bad review ate at but it wasn't here. Admittedly it isn't goumet but if you want old fashioned, down home food then this is for you. And the owner and her waitresses go out of their way to please.

Great place to share coffee with a group of friends and have breakfast. It's what I would call American style dining at a low price which makes for an easy chose when one wants to take their family out to eat.

Great place to stop as you head south on I 49 out of Kansas City. The prince are huge and the staff is friendly and most of the customers knew each other and were regulars.

My husband has always raved about breakfast at Katie's so we decided to head down for lunch one day. It pains me to say that the lunch was mediocre at best. The service was fantastic and super friendly, but the fries were barely warm and the burgers were so over cooked it was like chewing on leather. Not impressed and definitely won't make the trip again, unless it's for breakfast.

Friendly service in a comfortable, homey atmosphere. The food is delicious and the portions are generous. I love the pancakes for breakfast and the burgers (especially the mushroom swiss burger) are very tasty.

Went here on a Saturday morning and it was unorganized from the start. It wasn't very busy but a young lady who was the cook had to take our order. A couple waitresses walked by numerous times but never helped us. Dont order the Chicken fried steak. It was tough, dry and didn't even come with gravy. Hashbrowns and biscuit were good though. I like to support local businesses but they need some improvement.
