My coffee was luke warm, there were two options for pie, and the barista wasn't very friendly and didn't care to answer any questions. The place just doesn't live up to its hipster potential.

I appreciate that they make their pies daily for freshness but was bummed that at almost 4pm on a Saturday there were so few choices. Our coffee was warm at best and was given our apple pie cold as well. The baristas weren't rude but didn't smile or seem thankful for our business. We just took our items to go. The pie was tasty after we got it home and warmed up.

Great french silk pie came in with a small group of family and they were welcoming amd friendly. I wish i remembered the peoples names who were working. GREAT customer service!!! Its hard to find around here these days! Definately will be visiting again soon!!! Only wish i wouldve went sooner!!!

Okay, so my service experience was a little weird, but honestly, I don't care about that sort of thing as much as I care about a)cleanliness and b)overall food quality and taste when it comes to restaurants I review. And this place is really clean and the French silk pie was FIRE. The crust was all buttery and flaky and (insert swear word) and the filling was fluffy as (insert swear word) and it was topped with grated bakers chocolate. It's inside a library so it's nice and quiet and they have a very cute theme to their pie shop. Now, I will say that I think that the pie was a little pricey (I am pretty sure my total was like $16 and I bought 2 pieces of pie) but I'm the type that is willing to spend a little bit more on supporting a local business.

Fun littlle side visit if you're at the library. Their hours are just so-so and you feel good buying a slice of pie from a local place, that's not some supermarket grocery chain. Our pumpkin pie was good, but not outstanding. The place is comfortable and is a good spot to sit and read for a bit if you've borrowed a book from the library. The shop can be accessed from inside the library, and I believe they have a side door too. The decorations on the walls are nostalgic and interesting, but there's no abundance of vinyl here. There is a small bin with records for sale, but you probably won't find any great discoveries if you're a record store person. Novel idea and fun place to chill and have a coffee or treat.

This place has two great things going for it and one slight drawback. First off, their pie is awesome. Coupled with a homemade sandwich, this place won't let you leave hungry. Not only is the food good, the overall atmosphere is of a 1950s era that screams coziness. Old records spinning in the background playing classics of a different age that bring you to a cozy feeling and make you forget about the stress of the day. I wish I could say there are no flaws with this Kate's pie shop, but there is one thing that needs attention. The coffee is rough. Although, they have exotic choices, the basic cold coffee or other related items, needs some help. I understand that this is after all a pie shop and coffee is not their number 1 concern, but it would be nice to have a nice cup of coffee to go with everything else that makes this place great.
