Went there for the first time with my girlfriend. This is one of her favorite places and I see why. Extensive selection including lots of good vegetarian options. In fact my girlfriend who is not a vegetarian now is in love with the thing I chose. Good atmosphere and decent service Plus great food equals a must go!

Excellent service, great fresh and cold sushi (I hate warm sushi) and cute little restaurant. Greeted immediately, served super fast and I went during happy hour. A crunchy roll and an avocado roll with a Coke was 12 dollars. I'm in love.

I haven't eaten here, I tried to but the fussy baby in the corner could be heard throughout the place so I left with a migraine and no food. I had to ask to be seated when the want staff wasn't busy, just to be told anywhere I like. It's just me so I took a spot at the bar just to have wasabi and ginger shoved in my face before I can look at the menu to see what I want.. I'd barely even sat down.

A fine establishment, if I may say,
that this place has saved the day.
After a movie we went to eat,
But found an hour's wait to seat!
Across the way was Kappa Sushi,
And in no time flat we sat each tushy
To atmosphere and delicious food;
Suffice to say, it all was good.
5 stars for you, waiters sublime,
I'm sure to come here first, next time!

Wonderful delicious sushi! GLUTEN FREE SOY SAUCE! Prices are pretty average although all of their food is super fresh. I love the blue cali roll which is made with REAL blue crab. They also offer handrolls for a lesser price--my go-to when I eat there.

Holy moly we love Kappa Sushi! So, so good. We ordered some usual flavors tonight then asked for them to just make a spicy roll not on the menu. What came back was pure genius. Highly recommended!!!

Great lunch here, and good for kids. Sushi seems pretty fresh. It is very busy though. We called to push our reservation back by 15 minutes, and they said it was fine, but apparently no one told the host. When we arrived at our new time, they had given our table of 6 to a party of 3 people. They did give us the next table, though we were the only ones waiting at that point. Took about an extra 20 minutes with no apologies offered. Bottom line, don't come for lunch if you're short on time.

Love this place. It's great for lunch and the lunch portions are large. Weekend evenings it's busy but the wait usually isn't terrible and they'll call you if you want to walk around instead of just standing there. The sushi is always good and happy hour prices are fab. I defiantly recommend.

SEATING (4/5) - Clean. Small. Casual. I enjoy the counter seating next to where you can see them making sushi!

PORTIONS AND PRICING (4/5) - One cut roll (~$9) is filling enough for me.

FOOD (5/5) - Love the tempura fried sushi rolls here! Their veggie selection rolls are some of the best I've encountered.
--Mr. Potatoe Head (veggie roll) was my favorite. Crispy on the outside with potatoes, avocado, cream cheese, and tofu on the inside.

The B.L.T. roll is fantastic! Bacon, lobster, and tuna. Sat at the sushi bar. Man making sushi was very polite and had the next roll ready as soon as we were done with the first.

I've been to Japan, and the food there is delicious. Especially the sushi. Kappa is right in par with quality and taste. This is the only place I go to in SD.

After only 10 minutes on a Saturday at 6pm, we were seated at the sushi bar. The fish all looked incredible, service was fast and we never had empty drinks.

We started with the tempura fried green beans then my wife ate 2 vegetarian rolls and they had a few very creative and tasty options. I had the Tasmanian devil roll and the blue Cali, both were delicious. Finally we had mochi for dessert and it was nice.

My most memorable experience of kappa's was seeing the chef throw away 2 rolls he was making due to the tempura breaking as he cut them. I was extremely impressed by their dedication to a quality properly plated meal even in the Togo orders that they filled.
