I love koi express! They have a very similar menu to sushi burrito, but they put more fish and less crab in each roll. I've mostly had the y wrap, which is sushi burritos citrus roll. We got the ramen tonight and it was good, but the meat was a little weird, if we want ramen specifically we'll probably go to asa ramen next time, but this is my favorite place in Utah County for quick, yummy sushi.
We love this place!! The food is DELICIOUS. The atmosphere is fun and the space is super cute.
Their sushi wrap was AMAZING! I got the Koi Wrap, which was so tasty if you like more of a fishy taste to your sushi! Their $5 rolls are really good too. Worth checking out if you want good sushi without having to go to a restaurant.
Ordered the Koi Wrap, Texas, California Wrap, and seaweed salad for family dinner. Spent about $60, took nearly an hour to get our order.
The wrap was literally ALL rice... nearly 3 cups of rice per wrap! Very disappointed. The fish was not fresh, very slimy. The salad had a very bad smell and slimy as well. The steak in the Texas wrap was mostly fat and tendon ends.
Customer service: The staff was nice
Food: Sorry guys, I will not recommend Koi Express.
I had the New York wrap- it is a cool idea. I thought it was pretty tasty. I really love sushi and I think for someone who is having a sushi craving but doesn't wanna spend an hour or two eating, or 25-50 dollars on sushi, this is a pretty neat alternative and pretty filling.
Good atmosphere and service, but AMAZING ramen. The facility may be modern but the food tastes authentic and is great. Pricing isn't too bad, and can be compared to similar restaurants of the same caliber like Cubby's, Cafe Rio, etc.
I'm no that's a huge sushi or seafood fan. Luckily they have some options for the sushi rolls that have steak or chicken instead of fish. I got the Louisiana Roll which was very spicy (but spicy food is up my ally). It was pretty good. I wish they had an option without seaweed because that was difficult for me to get past, but it was good otherwise! Small facility, a quaint little place. My husband who lived in Japan for two years loved it and found it to be a good comparison to the flavor of sushi in Japan. So if you like sushi, this is probably the place for you.
Highly recommend the California wrap! Great fried outside and good mix on the inside. Fun and friendly staff who are happy to explain anything you don't know if you're new to sushi!
I had a great experience here! The staff is very friendly and the food came out fresh. I had the New York sushi wrap which was very good. Also, the Milkis drink is fantastic.
Really liked this place. Not the quickest service, but the food is good. I got one of the ramen bowls (could use a little garlic or salt in my opinion) and a friend got a sushi burrito/wrap. It was good. The gyoza was good as well. Would definitely come back.
Pros: Pleasant Staff; clean facility
Cons: They serve mostly fat/lard, not meat; slow as molasses in January
By far the WORST food I have ever had. I got the Pork Belly box. I thought there was some sort of strange vegetable that I was eating (since my friend found some unexpected items in their wrap that weren't on the menu) but soon realized that it was actually just fried fat. Large chunks of animal lard! There were only a few strands of actual pork in the entire dish. A pork dish is what I ordered...Large chunks of lard on rice is what I received. My friend's steak wrap was equally fat-laden. I went with a group of 10 and 8 of the 10 will not be returning. Every pork dish in my group was just like mine. Just thinking about it makes my stomach churn.
The two who actually enjoyed theirs ordered a salmon wrap and a chicken dish. The salmon wrap actually received high praise...minus the extra ingredients that weren't on the menu (which they pulled out).
It also took us 30 minutes to receive our food (they weren't that busy). On the plus side, they were very pleasant. It sounds like some of their dishes may be ok, but if you prefer actual meat with your order (as opposed to the fat you would normally cut off and throw away), then you may be out of luck with many of their options, given our group's experience.
