Joy of Books is lucky they are the only game in town. If you want books, it's better to visit the great non-profit used book store in Fletcher: Books-for-Good. Their profits go to charity and they have a huge and very good selection, the best I've seen in the area.

Always stop here when in town. I find things here you can't elsewhere for good prices. Proprietor is very nice and kids love her dog.

This place is such a gem! We were so happy to have come across it when visiting a year ago and just returned for our second visit yesterday. The selection is small but incredibly well curated. I have a lot of respect for the owner because there is truly a book for everyone here. All the books are in next to new condition and priced as well as ordering used offline. Can't wait to return again on our next trip up!
Also- a big thank you to the woman who rang us up for packing us up in her fabric ingles bag! I know we just about bought all the books so we really appreciated it!response / report this review -

very picky on what books they buy its too big its too small its too old its not popular it's not hard back the good thing is they are the only book store that will give a check in hendersonville for used books looking for another book store to sell my used books to that wont force store credit on me so far book exchange in asheville is a good bet
