Great restaurant with extensive buffet. Alot of choices and eat dish I chose was very good. Price is good for what you get. Definitely will be back when I get back to Kansas city
Never going there again. The plates were dirty, and so were the silverware. They took forever to fill up the food when it was empty. The waiter spilled my sons drink and did not bring him another one. When he did come to the table he would reach over our food for our drinks before even asking if we wanted a refill and would try to take our plates before we were even done eating. The food that I was able to try was okay, but could’ve been better. & It was a little more than $17 for adults. I would not recommend going there!
We absolutely love coming here. It's our favorite Chinese restaurant. The fresh food, frog legs are the best we have had. All you can eat crab legs. Friendly and attentive staff. in thing I hate is they don't have Won Ton soup. But, still worth the 1.5hr drive!!
Good variety of food even beyond American style Chinese. Good sushi and baked fish as well as several preparations of shrimp. Sometimes the dining room can be a bit noisy. Additional charge on weekends as they have king crab legs on the buffet. I visit regularly.
Really great food and excellent speedy service. Even when we go there with a large group we rarely have to wait even if they are busy. The staff has always been very accommodating. And the food is always fresh, including the sushi. We have never been disappointed at joy wok!
Love the buffet. I can eat all the clams I want. Fri-Sun after 4pm the crab legs come out. All you can eat! Its usually pretty clean. The waitstaff are helpful. Ive been 3x. Ive never been disappointedfire frog legs!
I've been here many times over the years but last Sunday was my last. They have a good selection and always keep the buffet stocked when I go. It's not the best food by any means but I always manage to find something I like. The waitress we (3 of us) had Sunday was a little too attentive to the point my family started to feel uncomfortable. When she came to our table she would lean in and whisper "is everything okay" with her hand on my arm each time. I was so annoyed by her that I was finished after 1 plate. I didn't even get a drink refill. When she brought the check she leaned down and whispered "I only charge for 1 drink." Then she smiled, put her hand on my arm again and had the nerve to point at the 30% gratuity line! As if I would leave $17 for $50 buffet tab!! Reading other reviews I see I'm not the only one. I won't be going back.
The food isn't the best, but it's not bad & better than anything else we've had as far as Chinese buffets in Kansas & Missouri go. Just built an indoor fish pond which adds to the atmosphere & provide feed which is fun for the kids! Don't expect much in the way of variety, this is a run of the mill joint, but is enjoyable & you will likely get good service.
I should give Three stars because of price but they have very attentive waitress and waiters. Also On crab leg nights they do keep them pumping no long waits. So 4 out of 5 is fair enough
Food was good (as usual); the crab legs were tremendous - some of the best I've ever had at a buffet. Service at the table was fine, but service getting seated was poor. Several tables of 2-4 arrived after us (group of 4) and were seated before us (no reservations on any account), pushing our wait from the originally estimated 20 minutes to nearly 40 minutes.
Went to this place yesterday with my family after a long trip so we were all hungry and tired. The food was good but was uncomfortable because the waitress kept looking at our tables. When it was time to pay the waitress came to get the bill and started counting in front of us and seemed confused. We left her a tip but demanded to get more. We leave good tips but for real waitresses not for someone who only brings out drinks and picks up plates highest Tip is about $5. Never coming again or maybe I will to embarras them infront of everybody.
My family has eaten here numerous times and enjoyed it. I'd read mixed reviews online so thought I'd decide for myself. We really liked it and it became our place, once a week, for months. Last time we went, couple months ago- it was all bad. Everything on the buffet seemed off-- sushi, chicken, dumplings, etc. I realized kids and husband were making bad faces, spitting food out. I bit into an egg roll and it smelled terrible. I was done. Asked for water and watched as a server washed his hands in the sink and our server pulled a pitcher of water out from UNDER his hands and brought it to our table and began filling our glasses! No thanks don't want to drink water that hands were washed withgross. My husband told manager we were leaving, paid half of ticket (I wouldn't have offered to pay- kids and I had headed to car). We drove to Best Buy a block away and my daughter ran to bathroom and threw up. Just disgusted with Joy Wok. I now understand the bad reviews.
First - it gets busy. It's huge. It's totally worth it. Especially for the all you can eat crab legs for dinner. They're timely and make sure that the food is well stocked with a variety of options. Haven't found a better all you can eat Chinese buffet with all you can eat crab legs on this side of the river.
Everything i tried tonight was fresh and not overcooked. Wonderful flavors and variety. Crab legs came out fresh and often. Staff was attentive and quick. New favorite spot!!
With Sushi, Hibachi Grill and Oriental Buffet in one restaurant, you have good odds of satisfying your entire group at Joy Wok!
The sushi and sashimi are fresh and tasty! The hibachi grill ingredients are fresh on a cold table for your selection.
On the weekends, they also serve Crab Legs!
