This was the first time i ever went here. It is a fun drive. Lots of curves. We didn't get to go far on the trail, but we got to look at the fish in the fish pond and my son was very entertained by setting other's dogs and climbing the large rocks. Hope to go back once it warms up some.
This place was great. Loved it. Going again and agian.
Great place for the family. Cold water to play in when it’s hot. Lots of hiking trails,Falls,Camping picnic benches scenic views.
A great place to hike. We have been to Rainbow Falls twice and enjoyed the hard work envolved in reaching the Falls. Elliot is one of the many friendly and knowledgeable Park Rangers at this park.
Great park out in the mountains of the Carolinas. water up there is so clean I've even filled my water bottles up there
One of my favorite state parks in SC. The river there is always cool and refreshing, and fun to play with the rocks and the water. Lots of good hiking in the vicinity. While the amenities are basic, this is a park that can be easily accessed and enjoyed by families looking for a quick afternoon outing from anywhere in the surrounding areas. A great place to beat the heat on a hot summer's day.
I visited the Rainbow falls very strenuous hike, but well worth it loved it!
Hardcore trails.. Beautiful scenery.. Great area for picnics..
Recently visited Jones Gap for the first time in 10 years and man, had I forgotten how amazingly beautiful this park is. From the moment you get out of your car you are enveloped by the forest. The middle Saluda looks and sounds like the river of your dreams. Try to get there early to spend some time alone in this tranquil setting because it can crowded.
The only problem with this park is the limited parking. Once parked this is a gateway to the mountains. There is a easy trail, suitable for kids, running alongside the river. Or head off to the more serious trails. Friendly park staff. I keep going back here again and again.
Good hike to rainbow falls. Well-marked and easy to follow. Visitor center doesn't have much. Parking is a pain but definitely go, you will not be disappointed!
