Man I ate here so much that I probably paid off someone kid college fundlol. This is my everyday place. I now live out of town now and really missed this place. I like all the food. The banana pudding is awesome! The corn bread is a must. I love the bake chicken over rice with greens and mac & cheese. Sweet tea is always good. Same people been working there for years. Same people been eating here for years. You see all races in this place and everyone respect one another. I just wish that the atmosphere was a little better and had a much better design. Overall this is the real Southern Non commercial soul food place to eat.

I am very disappointed with "Johns". When I was first introduced to this restaurant in 2010 of December I was very impressed with the portions of food you got on a plate or takeout. I am a strong supporter for Black Own business and for the money I spend to McDonald's or Wendy's it could easily go to Johns. In the last year I have witness the portions are smaller, for exampleI love the Salisbury Steak over rice, you used to get two patties and a good heaping of rice with plenty of gravy. Now, one patty, small amount of rice and very little gravy. When I asked about why the change I was given a rude answer. Over all there are some who are still nice with great customer service skills. It really hurts that this was my favorite place because I miss my grandmothers cooking and this place was as close as it got. I am single and don't like to cook much these days so when I want a home cooked meal John's used to be the place. It's a shame that I will need to find another home cooked place to eat.

Love the family oriented environment!!! The food is great and you definitely get your money’s worth. Every time in the Atlanta area, I have to come and I always bring everyone I meet here.

The food is good, The fried chicken is great and a few side dishesThe staff is friendly and the service is pretty fast
But most of the food has a basic taste for soul/comfort food in my opinion. I have given their Ribs a try a few times, they are ok in taste, but I've also felt sick afterwards.. So I'm picky when it comes to this place

So I absolutely love the food!!! It is so good! Delicious soul food however. Some of the workers have HORRIBLE ATTITUDES!!! The cashier however is very kind but some of the service are just no no no..

this food is HORRIBLE. it had NO flavor. I bought the "meatballs" and macaroni and cheese. well, my meatballs tasted like meatloaf, bland. the macaroni noodles was overcooked. soft (gross) my husband got the fried chicken and yams and collards. he said all was bland. we spent not a lot of money, you do get a heavy meal, but zero flavor. be sure to keep driving by this place when you are looking for "Southern Food" SAVE YOUR MONEY

The food is decent, But could use some more seasoning.The inside of the restaurant needs some Serious Cleaning! This restaurant do a lot of business, so why not keep the place clean & painted???? I bet his home does not look like the restaurant! The inside does not have to look fancy, but the walls need a deep scrub & paint! The floor needs to be cleaned. LOOKS LIKE A HOLE IN A WALL TYPE OF PLACE! The inside appearance is terrible! U CAN TELL THAT THE OWNER IS POCKETING ALL OF THE PROFITS! What a 😳 shame!!!!!

I love the food here .
My wife and I have been coming for meny years.
However tonight there was a car parked to the right of the building and Mr John ( owner) ask everyone who it belongs to and when nobody responded he said he was towing it. I could understand if it we're blocking something or someone but he towed because it was a rule he has of no parking in what he called ( his driveway). Sorry Mr seagraves. But I would never treat a paying customer that wayjust saying. overall the food is so good here.

The food is fabulous. The ribs and smothered chicken are some of the best things I have ever ate. The customer service is not good, but the food definitely speaks for it's self. The prices here are reasonable for what you get.

I've been here before on a few occasions. Todaythe quality of the food is down. The candied yams are straight from a can. The mac and cheese was bland. The baked chicken was tough. I wanted to rate lower, but I am trying to be fair. I did find the cabbage to be very good and the dressing was good.a bit on the skimpy side with the serving size of the dressing.

Dissapointed. Went for lunch on a Thursday. During peak lunch hours they were out of fried chicken, even though it wasn't very busy, saying it would be 20 minutes till they could make a new batch. The staff was rude, restaurant wasn't clean. All forgivable if the food was good but it was fair at best. A very poor example of soul/southern food. Not worth the trip at all.
