Can't beat $25 safety and emissions tests. And fast too!
Good deal on Safety and Emissions. Super nice and friendly. They retested my 98 for free even it was around closing time 5pm. Mucho gracias :)
They tell me all sorts of stuff I might need to get done on my 2004 vehicle which I appreciate considering I have no idea how to fix up a car. I'm treated like an adult even when I've got no idea which kind of oil I'd want in my own car as well. They can take care of on the spot renewal and explained how I could take my car to the DMV to do some things cheaper or do it with them for a premium and since I hate the DMV and these guys are friendly I ended up opting for them with no issues.
Absolutely one of the best shops around. They have always been honest and forthright with me. Very well priced and faster than a lot of shops. Not the cleanest or newest facility but cheap good honest work is found here.
Jim's is sorry to hear about your brake problem, we only use manufactured spec brake fluid. There are different ways to contaminate you brake system, hot brakes is the major cause of brake fluid breakdown.
After a small mix-up with the registration of my vehicle, the people at Jim's were very helpful and ensured that I felt like they were on my side, which made me feel like they cared more about me as a person than they cared about making money on my vehicle! Based on my experiences here I can say that they definitely have the best ethics of any auto-shop in town! My most recent experience could've been a nightmare, however, thanks to the the people at Jim's, it ended up being a positive experience! Will most certainly be returning to Jim's next time I need anything auto related!
I've been bringing my cars to Jim's for years, for Safety and Emissions (only), with satisfactory results. Last month, however, during a safety inspection, my emergency brake light was on, so the folks at Jim's offered to top off the brake fluid reservoir, to solve the problem (turn the light off); it worked, or so I thought. A week later, I started experiencing major brake problems (my front wheels wouldn't turn); so, I took my car into my usual mechanic (whom I trust completely). He told me my brake fluid was contaminated and most of the entire braking system would need to be replaced. The only plausible explanation I can think of is that the folks at Jim's didn't get the right fluid into my brake fluid reservoir, and that mistake is gonna cost me a lot. Needless to say, I won't be going back to Jim's for safety and emissions.
The best. Definitely feels like they have your best interest at heart
Great service and price, very honest
Cheapest safety and emissions around. I don't come here for anything else though. Just keep your car maintained and you will pass easy.
I don't write reviews often and I try to help people out with smaller shops. But these guys are incredibly terrible. Brought our car for emssions testing said my muffler was leaking so I'm thinking ok I'll go fix it. Then as I'm leaving some jackwad comes out yelling at me that I can't fix it and I have to get a new one. I will never go here again and if you want to be nickel and dime to death by some dip stick that is willing to take advantage of you feel free to hit these guys up. I had previously brought my car here and my wife's the past couple years and to be treated this poorly is absurd and uncalled for.
Best place to get your safety and emissions tests done. I've gone there every year for at least the past 3 years. $20 for emissions or $25 for both. They are very quick, usually only about 15-20 minutes.
I had an issue with my catalytic converter and my usual auto guy does not do exhaust so he sent me to Jim's. They were super efficient. They had me in and out for a quote on the repair, which was reasonably priced. Then when I had them actually complete the repair it was done the day of with no complications. It was great to be back on the road so quickly. They did great work and the timeliness was what really impressed me most.
