Never disappointed I drive about 20 minutes to get their brisket, white chili is very good don t forget the addictive jalapeno corn bread muffins

Great food, good service, unique atmosphere. The ingredients are sourced locally and food quality reflects that. Prices are fair. Try the jalapeno corn bread!

Quaint, family atmosphere, fabulous food and the staff are exceptionally welcoming. We showed up unannounced with 12 after the James Dean Festival and they were terriffic to us.

Its an upscale BBQ restaurant in a small town. We drive 45 minutes to meet friends and enjoy the loaded potatoes.

We have traveled around and tried BBQ restaurants in many different towns and states. We live about an hour away from this restaurant and have now gotten hooked. It is by far the number one BBQ we have been to. Excellent brisket, pulled pork, ribs, baked beans and mac&cheese. The Brisket is the best I've ever had. We now try to get here at least one /month.

Service was somewhat slow even though there were several empty tables and employees standing around. My salad was supposed to come with guacamole. When I asked the waitress she went to the kitchen but when she returned said they were out. I would have expected an adjustment to our bill but was charged full price. One of our party got the medium size nachos. He said they were good but not much meat. Overall a positive experience.

Very good food. Great Saturday special, The Jefferson for $11, $2 off regular price. 2 meats and 2 sides. Large portions. The best jalapeno corn bread. $5 for 6 muffins, most definitely worth it. We had a very good, attentive waitress. First time eating there and she was helpful with our questions. Worth the 25 minute drive from Walton to Converse. I'm sure we will go back.
They do take reservations, an I would recommend making one on the weekends. We went at 4:30 on a Saturday. They were just getting busy when we got there and there was people waiting for a table when we left an hour later. If you live in north central Indiana and looking for something new I would definitely recommend this place. It's family friendly and worth the drive.response / report this review -

Make the trek - you won't be disappointed. Groupon usually has some great deals you can capitalize on. Plan on a wait unless you come early - people are prepared to wait in line for this joint.

Great BBQ food and sides! We ordered a Mississenawa and Wabash platter, the food was enough to feed four hungry teenage boys. The side dishes were a little small but very good. The restaurant itself was very clean and there were either tall or short tables to sit at. Our server was friendly and kept the drinks full. Overall Jefferson St. BBQ is a great place to have dinner and a good time.

The food when it arrived, was tasty. The shredded pork was flavorful, but on the dry side. The brisket was amazing: tender, moist and packed with flavor. The Arnold Palmer (rip) I had with lunch was better than average and served in a nice pint glass. The mac and cheese was great, but the green beans tasted like they were out of the can with very little bacon flavor. Service was friendly but slow, I think they were having IT issues the day I went. This restaurant was an unexpected and pleasant surprise.
