While The Precinct doesn't outwardly market itself as kid-friendly, each of the staff that happened to notice my children attempting to recreated the folded napkins "tuxedo-style" stopped by our table to give a discrete demonstration.

Regardless of the cut of the beef or the rarity of the truffles, my children will remember napkin-folding tutorials as the peak of this visit. And thus, so will I.

We aren't affluent but we've been here countless times. Each visit is memorable and noteworthy in its own way.

Among the most memorable, a customer dining at an adjacent table paid for our entire meal because we all connected in a meaningful way during our meal. The waiter walked up when he'd normally hand us a bill and said, "Goodnight, folks! It's all taken care of."

I'm telling you, this place is special

This was the best restaurant I’ve ever been to! My husband and I had a tiny wedding ceremony with our immediate family and reserved a private dining room to have dinner afterwards. It was all incredible! We got there a bit early and they let us wait in the bar which was great. The dining room was literally perfect. We loved the dim lighting and furnishings and everything about itwe felt so classy! The staff was incredible too. They were so attentive and helpful with descriptions and recommendations. All of the food was DELICIOUS!! I don’t know if I’ll be able to have a steak anywhere else again, it was so good. They took a photo of me and my husband and immediately developed it for us and put it in a little Jeff Ruby’s frame, it was so sweet!! I will remember this day forever. I’m excited to take my new husband back here for his birthday in a month!

My wife and I had our wedding celebration at The Precinct in the Ruby Room on 12/1. Ashleigh and Jen at the restaurant, worked with me to plan the event and were nothing but nice ensuring our experience would be one we’d always cherish. The staff taking care of us were absolutely fantastic. They knew the menu inside and out, checked up on us with smiles on their faces at all times, and really made sure they made this night very special including giving us a photo to remember the night by. Thank you to everyone at The Precinct for the best dining experience any of us have ever had.

Prepare to be dazzled, and filled by Cincinnati's restaurant king's old time, police themed steak house. Every detail from door to table impresses quality and high expectations without imposing the notion that you're not good enough to dine there. These people make you feel special and aren't stuffy about their jobs- jobs they're quite good at performing. This is the upper echelon of Cincinnati standards and traditions, it's a hometown favorite. It's a must for anyone visiting, celebrating something special, or just because you deserve something special.

Went there for my birthday and I definitely felt like a celebrity. Best service I've ever had at a restaurant. I wish I could of met Jeff ruby. Very inspired by his work and would love to own a steak house of my own one day as good as his.

Not great if you any food sensitivities. I understand it’s difficult to cater to those who have them, but what I was given was unbelievable. My husband who doesn’t have any felt as though his food wasn’t spectacular either. I feel like when you attach a price like that to something it should be worth it in some way. I often pick high end restaurants because I have better luck finding things to eat, not this time.

I was incredibly happy with having dinner at The Precinct with my wife for her birthday. Chad, our waiter, was fantastic. He made an excellent recommendation on a red wine for us and he listened to our requests for dinner which led to an amazing experience. The restaurant is incredibly clean and the ambience is amazing. A waiter who was walking around near the kitchen saw us from across the room and asked us if he could pour us more wine since our glasses were getting low. We obliged and my wife asked about a chandelier in the adjoining room, he proceeded to give us some history about the restaurant. It was overall an amazing experience and, though the cost of dinner here is high, it really is worth it for the experience. I'm so happy that we got to experience this restaurant.

I am from Cleveland, Ohio and have family in California and Chicago. I have been to many restaurants and steak places over the years and I must say, this is the best. I have met owners of steak places in Cleveland such as "Red" and have told them that even though their place is good, it is non comparable to The Precinct or any of Jeff Ruby's restaurants. I was basically an unpaid marketing intern in Cleveland when Mr. Ruby had plans to open a place in the area, but I was saddened when I heard the plans fell through. I have been to The Precicnt many times and in my eyes it is superb each and every time. From the service to the atmosphere to the food it is perfection. I have told friends of mine they need to try it, insisting on it being the best. My friends often laugh and have doubts, but, each friend has returned to me saying "Connor you are right, it is now my favorite restaurant". I am excited to be there this weekend before the John Mayer concert and cannot wait to experience what The Precinct delivers each time I go. Mr. Ruby, thank you!

Top of the line service and food. Looking for a fancy date night, than this is place is your go to spot. Dress up red carpet style, bring the big bucks because this place is pricey but truly worth every red cent. Staff is so amazing, they are on top of things so well that they know what you need before you do. I would say if you're going to pop the big question to the love of your life than this is the place to do it, trust me it will be unforgettable.

Unfortunately my boyfriend and I feel that we have to submit a bad review for our experience at the Precinct. We had a $100 gift card from Christmas a few years ago and decided to finally spend a little more than we normally would on my 25th birthday celebration. We ordered the oysters and ricotta balls for an appetizer with a bottle of wine, soup, salad, and were to split a steak entree. By the time the soup and salad came out I was having terrible stomach pains and spent the rest of the evening in the bathroom in fear of getting sick. Every time I came out of the bathroom our next course was already wrapped up in a to-go bag and my boyfriend was trying to enjoy his meal by himself. Our waitress was very helpful with packaging up all my courses but by the time my steak came out I was already outside trying to get fresh air when I threw up on the sidewalk. I was extremely embarrassed as other people walked by just staring at me. I spent the rest of the evening outside while my boyfriend had to wait to get all the courses through and pay the check. He ended up eating a $200 meal by himself and it was not a good way to spend my birthday. We left a message with the general manager the next day and finally gave a toxicity report to him two days later. However he told us we will only get any type of refund if another costumer makes a complaint for the same day! So if you ate at the Precinct on May 30th and got sick please call them! The puke stain that we saw 5 days later should be enough to validate that the food was bad. Unfortunately it has been a week and we have not heard anything back from the general manager. We really hope that a "respectable" restaurant that strives for great experiences would respect that we wasted our money on a special occasion that included lots of embarrassment. Based on the fact that we haven't been compensated in any way for this, we won't be going back to any Jeff Ruby's restaurant.

Great ambience and atmosphere. The restaurant has a restored historic classic look that creates a good and feeling.

The service is friendly even when you arrive 15 minutes before closing time. The tiger shrimp is big and juicy. The the steak was a bit over cooked on the outside but good on the inside.

The appple cobbler with the cinnamon ice cream is a good sweet treat.

Wow is all we have to say! Our meal was outstanding and they graciously accommodated our no pork/shellfish request. The service was stellar and the ambiance was wonderfully classy but not at all pretentious. Yes it's a pricey meal but the value for what we got was great. Highly recommend!!

This place is amazing: the original art deco features of the room are absolutely stunning, the booths are cozy and romantic, and the food is just incredible. You feel like you have just been dropped into the 1930's. My husband and I opted for the 10 course Grand Tasting Menu with wine pairings.

This is quintessential steakhouse. This specific location also happens to be my favorite. Eloquently appointed and a very intimate atmosphere is all brought together by fantastically prepared cuts of steak that I would put up against any other steakhouse! The sides are to die for as well! I've dined here many times and have yet to even have anything considered less than fantastic in terms of food, service, or experience.
