Over the past summer I approached Jay-Bilt and Jim with a project, the demo of a large pole barn on my property and then building a new modern garage.

From day one working with Jim has been fantastic, he was able to work within our and timeline.

Communication of key dates and deliverables was fantastic and so were all the various crews that worked on the project; demo crew, concrete, framing and electrical.

I am super happy with my new garage and look forward to using Jay-bilt for future planned home renovations

Excellent people with excellent craftsmen. We are thrilled with our home renovation and expansion. One of the city inspectors said that he wished he could bring people to my job site to show them how a job should be done. I can't say enough nice things about these folks.

Was working with Jim + his architect for 2 months when all of a sudden Jim called me and told me he was too busy for my $200k home addition and left me high and dry. Jim wasn't great about following up and providing updates, which caused unnecessary delays during the planning process. Jim finally admitted he was unfamiliar with my city's requirements for setbacks and lakefront. I can't comment on his craftsmanship, but his communication was unprofessional and poor. He never refunded the deposit I gave him for the architect, so I've decided to leave this review. Would not recommend.

EDIT: adding in that Jim's architect requested an additional $500 to release the plans we had been working on. Still to this day Jim never acknowledged me as a customer, even though I directly handed money over to him.

Jay-Bilt did work for us in 2015. A friend asked us if we would recommend someone for an addition they are planning. We appreciated how Jim handled us as a customer, always informing us of what was going to happen and kept us I the loop. The work is of extreme quality. We are very happy!

We worked with jim and his team on extending a portion of our house to add a bathroom and closet. Everything turned out amazing and the tile guy and finishing carpenter were my favorites to work with. Construction is always a long process and there are bumps along the way. Being patient and understanding and communication are all keys to making your space what you want it to be. We are so happy we did our space.
