I'm leaving 5 stars because I believe Dr. Presas truly has good intentions and his work may help some folks, but I will detail my experience that will definitely help others.
I herniated my l5 s1 playing basketball summer 2021 June. First of all, do NOT waste money on an Xray for a herniated disc. The Dr. will tell you this is adequate, but it's certainly not. You NEED a non-contrast (only for tumors) MRI to truly see your herniation. 375$ Dr. Presas charged for Xray is too expensive, normally is about 100$.
Secondly, insurance does not usually cover his services; why? They are not proven.
I went through 5 treatments over 3 weeks and spent 1000$ out of pocket. I will say I had no relief from the decompression. You can get the same level of decompression I discovered from hanging from a pullup bar. You can also use an inversion table. His expensive machines are not proven and don't work. Lets be real, you cannot "suck" or "vacuum" suction a disc back into place from decompression.
On the good side, I stopped his treatment and developed my own and I am pain free 5 months later without any doctors help.
The Cure:
1. Most importantly, REST as much as you can on your back. Heat and ice help, tens unit helps, but nothing cures like pure rest and time for the disc to heal.
2. Drink as much water as you can, take supplements, (curamin, MSN, cumin). Eat a healthly diet.
3. 200 hip thrusts a day, walking if possible
4. Hang from pullup bar and to planks as well. Many core exercises to strengthen your abs and back.
5. Time heals most wounds, 5 months after my own routine, I got better, no surgery, no more wasted $, and back to normal. You DON'T need surgery or decompression, you need time and rest. 5-6 months in the worst cases.
Good luck.
Dr. Presas is awesome. He asks the right questions to find the right solution. He is very patient and makes sure all your questions are answered. I will definitely go back when the time is right.
Couldn't be more disappointed. My boss began treatment after listening to my recommendation. I did a ton of research when he was told he would need extensive surgery on his back and that even with surgery there was little hope he would see improvement. Site after site had rave reviews on the doctor and the approach he takes. After THOUSANDS of dollars and bi-weekly treatments for months we received new imagining from a second surgeon today that show ZERO change to his spine. Nothing realigned or even shifted. Two separate doctor's offices have laughed when told what Dr. Presas assured us would be accomplished. So very disappointed that I believed in the reviews I read online and persuaded someone else to spend money with these people. Please don't make the same mistake.
I started treatments over a week ago and already feeling better. Dr. Presas and his staff are very pleasant. He is very knowledgeable and answered all my questions. I still have some way to go but I believe my experience will be worth it. I recommend North Dallas Spine Center. I was broke down and could barely walk and using a cane. Today no cane and walking a lot better. The best part for me is no surgery or injections.
I have been taught as a child to not say anything, if you do not have something nice to say. I do not have anything nice to say about Dr. Presas.
My name is John U. and I wish Dr. P. would have help me. My back injury is very serious and his help is needed.
