I can believe the low ratings at this hospital. Had outpatient surgery scheduled and was assured by dr. office would not be scheduled first thing in the morning as we had an hour and half drive and cannot see well in the dark to drive. notified today we are to be there at 7:30 am guess when sunrise is 7:30 am! Future surgeries will NOT be done there. Wish I had looked at the rating beforehand.

Respiratory therapist flat out lied to me, then just amazing problems trying to get meds right (and I was a hospital pharmacy tech) right now I have been without my Nexium for 2 days and I'm told it's too expensive! My Prilosec back-up is also too expensive. They tried to get me meds that do aggravate my gerd. 11pm and I'm trapped here until morning. Anyone want to spring me? UH Geauga is great.

My dad is in the hospital now and the nurses are rude as heck to him. I'm getting him transferred out. Do not come here unless you wanna stay 8 days. Considering an attorney.

The entire UPMC organization is more about rushing folks and taking what money they can than in seeing to the patients needs in a timely manner. Patients can talk to doctors but all doctors I have met ignore all of what I have to say about my medical issues. Have to hash and rehash tests should another doctor see you. Orthopedic doctors want to avoid surgury like the plauge. You could have a shattered knee and all they want to give you is a simple shot - usually a $1,000++ proceedure for one shot. If you live in New Castle, try Butler Hospital or go across the border to OH. This place will only keep you in pain

Close this place! This is a hell! Went there with blood and clots in urine, 59 year old female. PA said right off the bat they would not help me, then offered urine and blood test. Came back 2 hours later to tell me my urine was full of blood, but otherwise I'm OK! Report this place to the state officials. They need to be CLOSED.

Went to the ER at 8:55 PM with my 4 year old daughter who had a temperature of 103.8. They took her temp and tried to say it was only 98. Then it was 99. Then it was 100.5. Never a right answer. We sat in the room for 4 hours with no Motrin or Tylenol. No one came in to take her temp and all they did was run a strep throat test that came back negative (duh we didn't come for strep). Needless to say I walked out furious and took her home where I gave her medicine. Worst. Hospital. Ever.

The Emergency Room is so incredibly slow that the name should be changed to the Waiting Room or the No Hurry Here, Just Bury Me In This Chair room. We have had several occasions for a variety of issues, from a stroke, to a car accident, cut, broken bones, appendix, chest pains you name it, where we have waited more than 2 hours to be seen! And then, this is the best part, there is never anything wrong with you! Unbelievable! Do the employees get bonuses for NOT treating people? Because that's what seems to be the case! The entirety of Jameson Hospital is just a disaster. Poor management trickles down from the top, so I'd say UPMC needs to step it up. From now on, we're going to Butler.

Was attacked by a cat and had a HORRIBLE experience with the ER staff. Not only did no one clean my wounds, but they didn't even provide me with the supplies to do it myself while I waited. I wasn't even offered a single ibuprofen for the extreme pain as it was my face that got attacked and repeatedly bitten. All they did for me was give me a tetanus shot with a huge air bubble in it that was so big you could hear it, and it bruised like hell the next day, clearly showing they hadn't administered it correctly. Ended up walking out. I called my doctor and she sent me in an antibiotic. When I got the the pharmacy, there were two but I had to wait on the antibiotic from the hospital. even though the attack occurred at 7pm, my script from my trip to the ER had not even been sent to my pharmacy until roughly 2pm the next day. Apparently they'll hire anyone. My boyfriend did a better job cleaning/accessing my wounds than the "professional emergency staff" I would never go here for a real emergency. Glad I learned my lesson early.

Keep in mind this occurred prior to the remodel. I went into the hospital with stroke symptoms, unable to talk, left side completely numb, left side of the face was drooping. Ran absolutely no tests on me, told me I had a migraine (no headache or nausea at all) gave me nausea meds and sent me on my way. My husband went to get the car, I crawled thru the hospital, my husband freaked out after he pulled the car up , yelled why was I on the floor, they responded with I don't know. He picked me up and carried me to the car. Treated me like a drug addict. I have sle needless to say I was lucky it wasn't any worse.
