Very close to the beach, walking distance, very clean, the hotel owners and staff are very nice and helpful, unique furniture and design, close to the Lincoln Road Mall, feels like home away from home and also has free parking. Would recommend staying here. I will definitely be coming back to this hotel the next time I come to Miami.
Staff was friendly and helpful, astmosphere was colorful and nice, the first room i saw was old and dingy, i ask for another room which was a little better but still everything is old and worn out, cheap furnishings..
Bottom line they need to up grade their rooms. Its a good value for the money for the area with free parking, but a very short term stay is the way to go . They need to spend some money on these rooms for a more comfortable stay.
The James hotel was very welcoming to me, the staff were great friendly me and my friend stayed here from 10/08 until 10/12/2017, I made memories on my first trip to Florida! Because of the James I want to come back, they have reasonable prices and the hotel has tons of personality, with their decor it almost tells a story, like reading a pop up book in elementary, really felt great in here! And the owner is such a great person! I will be coming back here every time I book a trip back to Miami ❤️

A very unique hotel with a great personality. Nice staff and satisfying rooms. Would stay again!
We would recommend the James to anyone who values cleanliness and affordability! It is a very cute "art deco" family run hotel, within walking distance to just about anything you'd want to do in the area. We will be coming back
pretty good hotel. no swimming pool the guy that sits in the lobby is very rude. The location of the hotel is everything though! right around the corner from everything. if you are just wanting a place to sleep after a long day i would recommend!! stay away from the older guy that just sits there he could be very rude. hes there everymorning. I do not mean to be so abrupt about him. We did not deserve him being rude to us!
Cute and quaint hotel located in the heart of South Beach. The hotel has a very cozy and authentic Latin feel, and there are great shops, great eats, and entertainment nearby. Upon arrival to the hotel, my guest and I were greeted by James who was truly welcoming, amicable, and very hospitable. Cleaning staff were wonderful also and did a superb job. We were truly satisfied with the level of service and I would definitely return to James Hotel hopefully sometime soon because Miami is mesmerizing!
Great hotel. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The cleanliness of the rooms is very good. The lady who cleaned the room where I was her attention was 5 stars..so I asked her name. It's called ailin. A very attentive lady. Respectful The truth is that I was impressed with the cleanliness and the attention. I recommend it
Interesting decor. Very retro! Clean and stylish rooms.
Only book if you really have no other choice. I have no problem staying in budget motels but this one was bad. The smell is just terrible in the entire property. The bed is extremely uncomfortable. I walked in the first room and the entire room was covered with water. I had to change it. The paint on the room walls are supposed to be white but looks grey from a bad paint job. Most importantly there is a guy walking around in the hallway obviously high and talking to himself. It's more like a cheap hourly motel than a hotel. If you are familiar with the hourly hotels on Okeechobee road it is even worse than those. However that saidthe location gets a 5. It is a great location close to everything.
Staff was super nice and helpful ! free parking in the middle of South beach ! (depends on space). A/C was great , design is crazy (in a good way) , could use a bit more cleaning.
SAFETY ALERT! YOU NEED TO BE AWARE! I had to click on one star but trust me- it should be no stars. I'm not someone who has ever taken the time post negative reviews about businesses just for the heck of it. However, in this case I feel like it's important for other potential people who are looking to have a special time in Miami be aware that this hotel has some major issues. The first would be the elevator- not only is it very old and scary, once you get on you won't feel comfortable when you realize the inspection is out of date many months in addition they do not have a valet however they insisted that I leave my keys when I checked in The room was decent think 1972 -however if you have any security concerns this is not the place for you, because when I went to get my keys the next morning I walked out and my car had been moved three parking places down (why???) and there was a big dent on the bumper when I asked what happened all I got was several people acting like they had no idea what I was talking about the strangest part was that they have 10 cameras you can see at the front desk and not one facing the actual parking lot The front desk person who checked me out was no help. He kept trying to tell me that some old man who hangs out in their lobby for 20 years was a witness that no one touched my car- anyways I called the police and they were very very nice however they informed me that because it was private property there was nothing they could do They can't even file a report!! So the "deal" that you might get on the room won't seem like such a "deal" if you happen to get robbed or in my case now have damage to my vehicle to pay for - hopefully the owner will do the right thing and take care of it. So far - no response- no helpat all!
A very good hotel!!! We came to stay for 1 night and stay for 10 days. A perfect location! Close to stores, 4 minutes walking to the ocean. What is the most important for me - it's clean! The rooms clean everyday. Avery day change a towels . May be its not so new in a hall, but the rooms a really good. I'm recommended to stay here. The perfect service for this price! This hotel has a free safe parking.
