Not sure what those one star reviews are talking about, but izakaya is actually the sports bar like area, no dinner show or anything and they don't do lunch at all so yeah.

What they do have is an awesome bartender and great servers. Their Japanese Korean fusion bar food is delicious, and they serve the full sushi and teppan menus. The happy hour menu is a great deal.

This used to be my favorite place to go in Rockford for sushi and good food. But today it all changed, sushi had couple of bones in it that my five almost choked on it. Waitres gave us no service at all but at the end charged us 17% tip, which she definitely did not deserve. Our cook could not even make good volcano. Ordered stake and shrimp for dinner and shrimp was awesome but they only gave me half of the stake but still charged 30$ for my meal. So as of today I have no desire to go back there so is my family. Don't know what happened to this place but its not like it used to be.

Love the sushi selection and ambiance here. Extremely enjoyable! Also, very well priced. Have not had a bad experience with the staffing here either, which is becoming more and more difficult at other restaurants. Very great place.
