They made me pay for a class I never tookI had no other choice and they threatened me with in-completion if I didn't pay the moneyTeachers are great! the staff, are the worst type of people. No help, no answers This version of a Community College is trash and always will be.

I attended all 3 campuses (Indianapolis, Lawrence & Nobkesville) for the fall 2017 semester. This was my first time in college since graduating high school about 8 years ago. From personal experience, all my professors were great and Approachable. Getting connected to main campus in Indianapolis is a but frustrating but if you want answers just go In person, your response would be more efficient about your financial aid and advising. The prices are great and I found out if you work for the state of Indiana like myself you get an additional discount in your tuition. Can't beat that!!

Don’t go here. The school may be inexpensive but the staff is rude. Advising and financial aid tell you one thing, but then do something else. Keep your money and go to IUPUI.

Local campuses have no power to do anything, and cannot transfer you to Indianapolis support. The MAIN campus, does not even have a phone number; and does not share it with the other campuses.

If you live anywhere besides main campus expect to have to drive to Indianapolis to get anything accomplished.

Called Ivy Tech's student support center to get help for an issue Was told the issue would be fixed and not to worrygot an email confirmation saying there was a ticket to resolve the issue..was later informed the issue was not fixed and now have to jump through hoops to finish a class that, had the correct information been given, would have not been a problem. Also Mark from their student support call center is horrible.

Some teachers were great and love what they do, others have no business teaching, but overall my experience was good as a starting point. If you do not know what you want to study or what interests you it is a good place to start getting your feet wet with studies. I give the 4 stars based on being a great point to start a career and it is affordable.

Teachers are really nice. They love doing what they do for ivy tech. Teachers are knowledgeable and come from the field they are teaching in. I have no problems with the teachers what so ever. Let me just say ivy tech is the only college I've ever been to. That being said, getting a hold of someone over the phone at ivy tech main line is a pain. Getting books is a pain. Getting the right advisor is a pain. Just in general when trying to get something done that you think ought to be easy is like very difficult. I feel like ivy tech has gotten too big for it's own good so taking care of all the students needs is difficult for them. Thing is, if you are in Indiana, don't wanna go to a for profit school and you don't wanna go to a big University for whatever reason, ivy tech is your only choice. Also, I did enjoy the verity of diversity at the school. Oh, and the BIGGEST problem I had with ivy tech was the tutoring. They go on and on about the fact that it's free. But there is a reason it's free. It sucks! 15 minute rotations is what you get. That's not helpful. Not only that is you could get someone COMPLETELY different on your next rotation. Not all of the online degrees are online only. Most classes even the traditional classes are hybrids. Meaning online degrees require in person classes and traditional classes require you to post homework online or you receive your grades online. So don't be fooled by the online classes marketing.

Ivy Tech helped me get on a path toward success that I couldn't find anywhere else. If there were a 10-star option, I'd choose that.
I started out at IUPUI and felt so lost on such a huge campus where everyone had something better do to other than help me, but at Ivy Tech, all of the staff members and professors I've spoken with are so helpful and amazing. There are so many resources - tutoring, library help, and office hours to name a few.
I've been meeting with a transfer counselor who's helped me choose courses that will transfer into a degree program at another school. I'll miss Ivy Tech, but I'm so thankful for the accepting, supportive environment in the meantime!
I highly recommend Ivy Tech.

I graduated from Ivy Tech and then transferred to a four year college which cost twice as much as Ivy Tech did. I saw all the same issues at the four year college I experienced and people are writing about here. People are correct in their posts here it is very difficult to navigate processes in higher education. One can lose financial aid if you aren't following the process and completing them. I agree with another post that says it's unfortunate, it is unfortunate that when adults are held responsible for their choices and required to maintain they prefer to blame institutions rather than find solutions and try harder to succeed. If you want easy try ITT Tech, I hear they take care of all of your financial aid and the classes are no fail but I also hear they are closed for giving out to many participation awards, or non accredited diplomas.
