Excellent organization helping homeless families. Shelter and meals are provided in local churches of a variety of denominations to homeless families. The organization assists families participate in programs to help them with employment, education, permanent housing, and other needs.

I called to get help. Ok, I am a single man with no children. I don't qualify for their services. I was disappointed. I was disappointed that the only other resource they could provide for me was the Kingsport Housing Authority's phone number -- housing based on income. (I have no income. I don't think they provide free housing. What I need is a place to stay and help finding a job.) I was disappointed most of all by the lack of caring, lack of compassion in the representative I spoke with. I felt he didn't have time to speak with me. I thought an organization made up of churches would be friendly and compassionate. I thought the love of Christ would at least be evident. I really expected some help from this organizationif that help was only a caring voice on the other line stating they were sorry for my current circumstances, assuring me that God loved me, and the organization would be praying God would move in my situation. I thought they would at least provide some encouragement and help lift my spirit a little. I was sadly disappointed.
