The hotel was beautiful with wonderful character but the beds were too firm and my husband and I didn't sleep well. There was no place to hang our shower towels or hand towel and they really should have a soap dish. However, the location is wonderful and the breakfast was great with a good spread and good coffee.
You get want you pay for. The room was tiny and outdated with uneven floors But I suppose that is the "charm".
It's not the highest quality place but If you just need a place to sleep for a few days and are looking for a free breakfast, this place gets the job done.
(-) Our room came with AC which was great because of the heat but the window in the bathroom didn't shut all the way so the temperature in the room didn't stay cool even with the AC.
(-) The door to the shower didn't close and the sheets gave me a rash (probably from low-quality laundry soap.)
(+) The front desk service was friendly and welcoming. The breakfast food was nice.
(+) The location of the inn is great. It's within walking distance of the main town and attractions. Parking is free at the Inn so all you have to do is park your car once and you're all set if your up to walking.
Tip: The room comes with shampoo and facial soap. I would recommend bringing extra body soap and conditioner if you need more than just shampoo and facial soap.
The Inns are charming. Our room is clean, bed very comfortable. A/C works great. Breakfast is well above average. Location really good for all tourist attractions.
Nice rooms, pretty old building. I would check the Vikings hotel across the street seems more updated. Though it is a large hotel not a b&b.
We stayed here for 3 nights during the boat show. Firstly, this hotel tripled prices for the weekend which was disappointing. What was more disappointing however was the hotel itself. The rooms are a decent size but are extremely outdated and dirty. The tap in the "kitchen" area just didn't work, the light fixture in the room was broken and the entire room was filthy. Similarly, there was obviously an insect problem in the bathroom as we must have counted 7 mosquitos at one point. Beyond that the service was poor, 2 of the days our room wasn't serviced despite us requesting and the hotel didn't provide basic amenities such as hair conditioner.
Overall this is a very poor and over priced hotel and I would urge you to look elsewhere. We were charged over $1,100 for 3 nights which I can safley say represents the worst value for money I have ever experienced, at any hotel anywhere. If you have an ounce of sense or style, do not stay here!
Great location, large room, comfortable bed, friendly staff
The place was amazing especially for how old it is. What a beautiful historic place! Forget about the amenities and clean the place was the staff was amazing! The same gentleman who was very hospitable & he hails from Italy
The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The room was in good condition and was pretty clean. We had a hard time finding ice in spite of locations being highlighted in the information binder. There seemed to be a lack of electrical outlets but we made it work with one that was inconveniently located.
Stayed for two nights over a weekend for my girlfriends birthday. Quaint new england style rooms and an easy 5 minute walk to the down the hill to the shops & restaurants. Staff is friendly and accomodating. I would definitely stay there again.
Staff was very friendly and the hostel was very well kept. Overall, my wife and I had a great 2 night stay.
