Front desk and nurses were nice. Nurse practitioner came into my room to look at my ear. As she was taking out the device to see in mY ear canal, she noticed the large red swollen bump and decided to press on it with her index finger, causing a great deal of pain. I flinched accidental lightly hitting the nurse. Who then became very upset yet decided to still offer me antibiotics ear drops.. The nurse practitioner then left the room and sent In a nurse to follow up. At that moment, I requested to be seen by a different practitioner and was informed I "could not be seen by another nurse practitioner after one had just seen me" however I could leave, go to avon immediate care (a sister branch) and be seen by someone different there.
I am currently at avon immediate care. The nurse practitioner here has clearly explained what is or could be going on.. He gave me oral antibiotics to deal with the issue inside and topical to deal with it outside.
I really hope our health care community can come together and realize their hands are to help healig. Not instill stress discomfort and add to our pain. !
