Barbara was very knowledgeable and assisted with purchasing the best wine. Kip gave us our discount. Thanks all. Great place to last minute Christmas shop.
Fun way to spend an afternoon, great wine selection, friendly staff, good pricing! Recommend, whether a first time or returning.
Ofcourse great wine and the scenery is just flat out gorgeous.
Really really nice people here. Had a great experience before even having wine.
The facility and location are beautiful. However, the guests inside the the store and tasting room are extremely loud and out of control. It is not a quiet family atmosphere at all. Did enjoy seeing the wide selection of nicely priced wines, but had to leave due to noise inside the building. Was not aware that screaming and shouting around the tasting bar was all part of a good time (????).
We are visiting Indiana, from Minnesota. We enjoy stopping at a local winery. This one is the best. The landscaping is extraordinary. The wines exceptional. Kim did our tasting. Great personality. We are so glad that we stopped.
The one thing I miss since I moved out of Indiana. Such a great atmosphere, friendly and knowledgeable staff, and a wonderful selection of wines. For $5 you can do a tasting, and you get to try a lot of different wines. The outdoor area is beautiful, and the free tour is fun. I am glad they distribute nationally, so I can find some of their more common wines in stores. I love their sweet wines.
beautiful winery. great assortment of wines. this is a can't miss spot!!! after a tasting, have a bottle on the deck.
I love Oliver Wine. Tastes are always up to the individual. The tasting experience is quite good for the price. The grounds are lovely, and the staff is excellent. The best thing about this place is the people.
My girlfriend and I stopped there for the first time on our way to the IU game. We had a great time and Danielle K. was fantastic. I felt bad, I did not see a tip line and was unable to tip because she was very knowledgeable and enjoyable to talk to. We will definitely be back.
Winery x miles ahead. Those are the signs you see as you're driving down a little back Indiana Highway. And those are precisely the signs I like to see! I was actually on my way to Southern Indiana when I passed these signs, and having tried their Soft White about a month ago at a friends, I couldn't really pass it up.
We got there half an hour before it opened at noon on a Sunday, so we didn't think we would stick around long. But then we started to stroll around the property and you before you know it.
This place is just Gorgeous!! In fact there was a senior picture photo shoot going on. Like other reviews have said, this place can get packed on the weekends. But it was neat to try so many different types of wine. All sorts of berry wines, and honey wines, and ice wines, it was great! And the fact that there's picnic tables set up all over is a huge plus. You can buy a bottle and they'll open it up for you and give you 2 glasses and you can either stroll around the lake, or the woods, or sit out on the patio and picnic or just enjoy the wine! They're apple cider wine is great either cold, room temp, or in a crockpot. If you're a Reisling fan, the Catawba is a must try!!
I also love the fact that they have a local section for members of the area to sell paintings, decorations, books, and food. There were some amazing pretzel dips when we were there!! Even if you have a few minutes, I suggest stopping by just to check out the beautiful rock formations in the butterfly flower garden as you head towards the shop.
Oliver is more than a winery - it's an experience! I attended the Winter Glow on Tuesday and everything was done RIGHT! There were 5 different bars open for tastings and the outdoor seating area was heated. Hot soup, mulled wine and Tawny Port Pecan Pie was available. The live a Capella Christmas carols were the final touch. It's easy to get to from Indianapolis and points south. As far as Indiana wineries go, this is by far the BEST. My personal favorite wines are the Shiraz, Merlot and Gewurztraminer in addition to the Tawny Port (makes an awesome Creme Brulee).
