We go swimming here with our two girls a lot. Its clean and well staffed for watching the kids.
Well kept, clean and friendly. Pool, kids pool & slides. Well trained lifeguards. Hot tub, therapy pool, and steam rooms. Basketball courts, weight room, aerobics, tumbling, volleyball, babysitting, etc etc etc. Everything you could probably ask for in a ymca.
Friendly staff and nice equipment
It is the best YMCA for everyone in the community and beyond to enjoy. We are so fortunate to have such a beautiful and safe building, and the best programs around for the full wellness of the people of the Illinois Valley. Some of my favorites are the Aquatic programs they're are the greatest in the area for children and adults alike to enjoy staying well, getting well, having fun, and building long lasting friendships along the way. The best place to swim. If you really enjoy the water there's the water park with the ultimate water slides. The gym for the weight muscle building and for strengthening the bones. It doesn't take alot of weight to do good, just get moving get it done enjoy it have fun. J
It's a very nice facility, boasting nice equipment and friendly staff. I'd give it 5 stars, but I had this really strange experience there. It happened after a workout, in the locker room. I went to get my clothes out of my locker when i realized..the locker was unfathomably deep. I'm talking like, Tardis style. I had to crawl in to get my clothes but the locker straight up Lion, Witch, and The Wardrobed me. Instead of Narnia, however, I end up in Mona, UT. Some boring, dry town where the biggest thing to happen was that in 2001 it hoodwinked enough people into moving there to officially apply for city status with the state. People still talk about it. Anyways, so there I am, stuck out in middle of Utah with no way home because i can't go back into the locker. After a week of spookin' cattle, opening fire hydrants, and putting flaming bags of dog poo and doorsteps; the residents decided that they have had enough of my shenanigans. They held a town meeting and decided I had to go, so pitched their money together to get me ride back home. When I finally got home and got around to going back to the Y, my stuff was in the lost and found, so that was nice. Also, they got a new rope machine while I was away.
Overall, 4/5. Alright, but not great.
Love this place!! They have everything I could possibly need and even fun classes!!
This is a great YMCA. I really like the pool and the weight/fitness room is above average compared to the other gyms and YMCAs I've visited. I did have to deduct one star though because of a grammatical error I noticed in the therapy pool area. In the 7th bullet down on the warnings board next to the hot tub, I believe the word "maybe" should have been "may be" in its context. I hope that whoever is responsible will take this criticism into account so that this great facility can earn the 5th star that it deserves.
