I got a good haircut, first one in three months, but the price went up from $20 to $30. No warning, no explanation, no apology. I understand that the pandemic has put a lot of pressure on small businesses, but I am a long term customer, and I would have expected some explanation. I don't need an expensive haircut. I shall look for a cheaper alternative.

Got my hair cut by John.
He kept rubbing my face with a coarse brush to wipe hair out of my face. Probably 30-50 times during the course of the 15 minute haircut. I told him to cut it out, he switched to a dirty towel!!! WHAT THE HELL! WHO DOES THIS? I have NEVER in my life had a hairdresser wipe my face even once, nevermind 50 times, nevermind with a sandpaper-like brush, or a dirty towel, especially not continuing to do so after being told to STOP. When I got home, my face was beet red, covered in scratches, hives and cysts from hell. I am going to the ER now, three hours after my haircut. I am likely unable to speak at a big event I am scheduled for this weekend as a result of this. This is absolutely asinine to an insane degree. I wonder if this man is new, incompetent, or is intentionally harming his clients.
To boot, I called, they told me the brush is boar's hair. I keep kosher. This adds insult to injury. as soon as i heard, i felt like puking.

and the haircut itself? terrible. Absolute DISASTER. I asked for a simple haircut, he gave me a fonzy pompadour. Then I asked him to cut it down, he turned it into a warthog-millitary type of thing. Then i said screw it, just buzz it. He didn't buzz it properly, he even managed to screw that up. I got home and had hairs sticking around all over the place in every direction because the barber doesn't understand that people's hair grows in various directions and haircuts are not one-size-fits-all, they need to be adjusted to the growth pattern. I have never had spikey hair that sticks up straight. I hate that. I tried to explain this to john, and he tried to make exuses telling me it's because it's short. No John, my hair turned into a spikey 90's mess It's because you don't know how to cut hair.

I always thought this was just a barbershop but I was thrilled to find out that in addition to men's and boys haircuts, they also do WOMEN's cuts and color, too, AND they use organic products!!! They did an amazing job with my color (and no nasty chemicals!)! The staff treated me extremely well. This place is top notch. If you're in or near Rhinebeck, check it out!

Peter runs a terrific shop. Excellent and friendly atmosphere combined with the best haircuts in the Hudson Valley. I've been going there for years and wouldn't consider anyone else cutting my hair. Peter is terrific at making me look less ugly. ;-)

I went to Iconic for the first time after the shop where I had been going closed. A gentleman named Mustafa was recommended to me, so I asked for him when I scheduled my appointment. I'm always nervous about starting with a new hairdresser because I have hair that's in between curly and wavy, so it's no easy cut. When I got to the salon, I was immediately impressed by the atmosphere. It was very inviting with its bold and funky paint job and cheerful employees. Mustafa was a perfectionist, and instantly I felt at ease and happy to find that he was everything I was told he would be by the person who recommended him. I have found my new hairdresser. I am more than happy to rate Iconic Hair, and I would definitely recommend the shop to others.
