It's not actually an IHG building, they just took over management of the existing buildings. So the buildings are run down, there's raccoons and stray cats all over, and the breakfast is mediocre. Don't eat the eggs, trust me.
The beds are nice and the staff takes good care of the rooms. IHG should not have put their name on the army's old, run down hotels though.
Also as others have mentioned, the water digress smell and taste terrible. But I've noticed the same from drinking fountains on other parts of the post so I don't blame this on the hotel. It's best if you can, to avoid drinking the water here.response / report this review -

Please look for other housing or hotels !! When I was TDY back in October the hotel was rude to me and some of my classmates in Fort Stewart! They even went as far as today to tell me they are no longer Army Lodging and do not have to provide statements of non availability when it is what was on the orders and they had no rooms to accommodate! Do not use the services in Fort Stewart!! They made my classmates move out of rooms causing them to miss time in class! Mind you we were not allowed to miss more than 2 hrs without being dropped from the rolls. The manager was rude and very inconsiderate. She took the time to chastise me over the phone because the school had not called her to block off rooms. I had to stay 45 minutes away from the school house and pay higher rates. They no longer accommodate Soldiers and are privatized so Soldiers on TDY do not matter to them. Please find alternate housing if possible. This hotel is horrible in every sense of the word and I wouldn't let my dog stay here let alone stay in the hotel myself!

The good: beds are comfortable, breakfast is decent, AC keeps the unit good temperature.
The bad: really run down, smells pretty gross, have to walk to another building for breakfast, MOLD in the floor tiles and shower, shower head way too low, AC leaking on floor, floor sticky, pest remediation in progress.
Overall, I would much rather pay the extra 30 dollars to go stay at the Hampton in Hinesvilleresponse / report this review -

A nice place to stay. The rooms are,nice and I like that they have a kitchenette. Perfect for short term and extended stays.

Wasn't sure what to expect as this was my first time staying at a hotel on a military base. I was pleasantly surprised. It's no 5 star hotel, but was clean, had modern furnishings, and the staff was very pleasant and helpful. Would happily stay again.

This is my third time staying at this hotel. This review is for Bldg. 4951. The suites are nice but the beds are a little too soft. The suites have a safe and a clothes basket. There is one free laundry room in the Bldg with 4 washers and 4 dryers and a change machine, and also a machine to buy detergent and fabric softener. There is one Ice machine on the second floor near the laundry room. Unfortunately, the water smells and tastes bad. Some of the hallways smell like a dog kennel (I believe they allow pets). There are no vending machines. You have to go to the office in the other building - about 100 yards away from Bldg. 4951 to purchase overpriced snacks and drinks. My refrigerator had a broken shelf and the freezer door didn't latch, so it came open every time I opened the main door. The bathroom vanity and sink were actually in the bedroom. Who ever mounted the curtain rod in the shower mounted it too high and if the shower water even lightly sprayed on the curtain, it pushed it over the edge of the tub, and water went all over the floor. The coffee maker was a regular filter pouch type. For a suite with a 5 day reservation, I felt like they should have left more Than 2 sets of towels. There is no fitness room, but there is a Fitness Center about a quarter of a mile away. The day I checked in to the hotel I noticed that someone had thrown some trash on the floor in the elevator and it remained there for 4 days before it was removed. The staff was very nice. The breakfast was adequate and the breakfast service was great. I would give more stars if not for the smelly water and overall smelly facility. It's great that they allow pets, but they need to enforce the deposit and shampoo the rooms so they don't smell.

After driving 4 hours, it was nice to lay in a comfortable bed and be greeted by smiling faces! However, the building we stayed in was extremely humid inside. The air conditioner only cooled half the room. It was good for the price. We'll stay here again if we have to come back.

Maid service skipped my room on several occasions during the week when they are supposed to come through. The fire alarm console was constantly putting out a high pitched beep due to errors in rooms that could be heard in my room at night. Breakfast was ok but the hotel often failed to restock items when they ran out of food or coffee which occurs very early. Overall I would not recommend staying here unless the military is forcing you too.

Military Lodging Having stayed at several military hotels, the IHG at Fort Stewart, GA seems to be average, in my opinion. The room itself was clean and well stocked with fresh towels and mini toiletries. Everything seemed to be in order. Housekeeping, however, is only available during the work-week. I was supposed to have a room with a kitchenette. Their definition of a kitchenette left a great deal to be desired! The area was exceptionally small, with a 2 eye glass-topburner, microwave, micro fridge and small sink set into a counter in a corner off the room. The continental breakfasts was also average, with items such as fruit, cereal, sausage, toast or bagels, juice, and coffee. IHG is conveniently located on Fort Stewart, with access to a nearby gym, the Exchange Mall, a small movie theatre and quick access to of-post facilities and businesses. Since most people have no choice in whether they have to stay here, it is an adequate hotel for things such as TDY and for passing through town.

I read through the reviews and I believe that some people stayed in the new building while others stayed in the old building. The old building (where the front office is) is up to about a Days Inn or Red Roof Inn standard. Friendly staff doesn't make up for all the negatives. Roaches, unclean rooms, and 15 minutes to get hot water should not be the standard for an Army hotel. This is one of the worst hotels I have stayed at in 17 years of service.

I've killed 7 roaches, 2 large and 5 small, in the 4 hours we've been here. The bathroom was not very clean. The water has an odor & all the rust and grime on the bathroom fixtures and tiles make it seem so dirty.
What I do like:
The play ground
The spacious room. For two beds, a couch, and a table, there's a considerable amount of space.
It's very easy to get to from the Hospital.
Overall we feel safe.
I have changed my review to 4 stars. After seeing more roaches I went to the front desk and or room has been moved. The gross room was 106, the new room is a lot cleaner. They let me inspect it before we switched. Now with a clean roaches free room & the park it's a 4 star review for sure. To get 5 stars they would have to bleach and clean it better. The climate seems to demand more than just light cleaning!!response / report this review
