The staff was great and considering the small, lay back city the hotel is nice enough for a short stay. Needs a little renovations.

No tv and no wifi and no heat , small stained towels and old pillows , this place sucks !! Would not recommend !!!! We only stayed because we had no place else to go , was not informed about the no tv or anything else at check in and they won't refund anything they Need to be turned into the BBB !! Oh and no coffee maker or blow dryer !!

This place is disgusting. The towels have stains on them and they don't dry you off. Smells terrible like mold. Door is covered in mold. Bed is uncomfortable, has stains on the bed, cigarette burns in the sheets. Stains on the wall. I wouldn't even give a one star rating but it's required to write a review. Avoid this place!!

The room was clean in appearance and staff was nice but it had a moldy and musty smell that was very strong. The owner advised that all rooms were like that due to the hurricane weather. But the atmosphere made me sick. My sinus was very congested and breathing was not pleasant. They need to remove the carpet and clean the rooms thoroughly and replace with new carpet. Because I can guarantee its probably mold in there under the carpet.

The Claxton Inn is a solid 2 star motel. I would highly recommend it over others in the area. I had no major complaints - the beds were comfortable, the older model TV worked fine, the AC worked great, the fridge worked great, the microwave was fine. I would suggest they paint the bathroom. The adage "you get what you pay for" applies here - in this case I got a good deal and had a good stay. I would stay again if I needed to and I will recommend it to relatives who come to visit us as we are moving to the area.
