I can't believe I didn't know about this place! I've lived in Naples for a long time.. some secret! Awesome flavors! Tapas-es are for people who love to share and love flavors! Everything was fantastic! Awesome experience. If you don't understand the concept don't complain about the portions or price. The variety and freshness is outstanding!

I'll go ahead and say it: "Charming"! - The entire experience was comfortable, enjoyable, delectable and thoroughly Iberian.

Our party of five staggered in over the course of 1/2 hour - being fully seated/present at 8:10pm. A lively 20-top of physicians (and physician-types, with possibly a rep or two interspersed) was seated in a hollow phalanx towards the front.

Had I not JUST been to Cúrate (Asheville, NC) so recently, then this would certainly have taken a five-star. As a rule, in my home-turf (32301), I NEVER rate an establishment against outside "comps". It's just not fair. However, I'm not on my home turf and what's more, Naples is a magnet of the same affluent set that hits up the likes of Asheville and as such should deliver similar comps with similar sites around the U.S. (perhaps I'm off-base. Hey - I'm just another blowhard "Yelper" who fancies himself well-versed in matters of the gourmand / gourmet - so take me with a grain of fleur de sel if you will)

This place is a total 4.4999~ which means it rounds down, and not up. I know

For APF, however, this is totally a five-star Tasca.

Our server was excellent. He was on top of his game. Throughout our two hours - there was also another server pinch-hitting.

I have a known proclivity towards Morcilla. Morcilla de Burgos, precisely. That was ordered up front along with Patatas Bravas and Spicy Octopus. The Morcilla was good - the pulpo was nice and the potatoes were uncannily similar to breakfast home fries. I KNOW they were not - but it's just a fact. Nonetheless, this first salvo was good.

Ordering Jamón de Bellota is ALWAYS a treat. Of course it's subjective - but give me an entry level Jamón Serrano over prosciutto di Parma any day. Bellota (pata negra) is the acknowledged MacDaddy of Iberian hams. MacDaddy of Global hams (in my book). This ain't cheap - but it's divine. A gift to oneself for certain.

The Pinchos Morunos were great. Spiced just right. Likewise, the sautéed spinach with pine nuts was an umame-fest and the squash blossoms were quite good.

A unique treat for me was the Madrileño beer. It's been decades since I'd I'm taken in a good caña and while out of a bottle, I could close my eyes and be transported to La Plaza Major on a sunny mid-summer's eve.

Again - I must qualify my rating. This is completely a five-star Tasca when measured up against local comps (I.e., you need to come here).

    Will certainly return.
