Usually very happy with everything here. This time service was a little slow. Our waitress discounted the ticket without having to ask. Kinda says it all. We appreciated that. They were extremely busy as always. Nowwhen the food did arrive, it was amazing as usual. The fried snapper sandwich was very, very good. Raw oysters are the best. Not sure they were Apalachicola ones but they were good. Fried shrimpabsolutely the best in town.

Food was amazing, the crab claws and seafood platter were delicious. Price in food well worth it and reasonable. Staff was very friendly and interacted with my 2 year old. Highly recommended.

The place is loud and small but the food is worth the wait and the noise. Can’t find good seafood like this much anymore. They know how to cook seafood the right way. Hunts Keep up the good work! I would recommend this place to any and everyone just for the great quality and taste.

Probably one of my worst dining experiences ever. So many red flags went up before we were seated but to look past and tried to see why we got so many recommendations for this place. First of all we parked in the back next to the dumpster of old oyster shells that were crawling with maggots (red flag). Then we past the flea market table selling Fidget Spinners, only to wait for 2 hours while a screeching old intercom called out for party names (3 red flags there). The interior was small with old cheap decor and tables and chairs were sticky, the food was dirty. We waited another 45 minutes before our food came. While we were waiting the bar staff kept banging on a gong every few minutes, which was a bit of sensory overload. The food was greasy. My cheese grits were neon orange. I only ate 10% of my order. Our tab was over $100.00. I don't understand all the recommendations of this place, maybe I have higher standards/expections.

You can count on the seafood being fresh and delicious here! Ambiance is folksy, fun & loud with lots going on all the time. You will have to wait to get in but can get a beer while you wait. And it IS worth the wait! Great oysters on half shell - baked or raw & fried everything - from grouper, shrimp, oysters & scallops to whole fried flounder! They also have a few non seafood entrees for "those" people!

The service and food were excellent! Everyone was extremely friendly, and the kids really enjoyed sitting at the bar and watching the oysters being shucked.

    Best oysters bar none!

Long wait for table and food, crowded uncomfortable. Expensive, small portions and at best fair, cold food. Will not go back, too many other much better places.

This is one of those "local" places that tourists have discovered. It is well worth the time to get there. I food and service is great. I would choose off peak times owing to the looonnnngg wait (30 minutes to an hour) during peak times.

I have been enjoying Hunts for years, but you have really let yourself go. I was told 3 different things by three different employees in less than 5 minutes. I checked in for 1. The guy working the door told me to help myself to any empty seat at the bar. When I tried to sit at the bar, the person behind the bar griped at me and the door guy saying the seat wasn't ready. So I stood while she bused the area, then a third person working the door snipped at me that I couldn't just seat myself, that I had to wait my turn, she had others waiting to sit at the bar. I told her that I HAD checked in and HAD been told I could sit at the bar. Don't you train these people? Needless to say, I left. If you continue to treat customers this poorly and fail to train your staff to be competent, you will continue losing patrons.

I've been to Panama City a few times before this current trip, however, I had never heard of Hunt's until now. The resort that we're staying at suggested this place and I am beyond happy that they did. The oysters are spectacular! They shuck them right in front of you, if you sit at the bar. It was a pretty long wait but I definitely understand why. The food is amazing! Especially the raw and Cajun baked oysters. The crabs are great as well. I just can't get over how great the experience was. I'm actually reviewing as I'm sitting at the bar. Matt was a wonderful server, by the way. If you're ever in the area, do yourself a favor and stop by. You won't regret it.

    Awesome every time.
As much for the entertainment from the staff as the food.

The oysters were ginormous today. Rosanne actually had to cut several in half, wow.

We normally have 2 dozen each. However today we ordered the fried whole flounder (yummy) and because the oysters were huge, we could only do a dozen each.

Friggin awesome! Amazing food and such a cool atmosphere. I was out from California, and this experience was one of my favorite from my trip. Super laid back. If I ever head to Florida again I will ABSOLUTELY be stopping here!

Hunt's is a business that is spiraling out of control. Yes, they used to be good years ago. I've been vacationing in Panama City for years and used to think it was a must visit spot. Absolutely not anymore. The food is average to good. But the atmosphere is hostile. The communities attitude is hostile to them. They are hostile to the community. They are also hostile to each other. Hopefully they will improve before I visit again this fall, but I'll be impressed if they are still in business then.

Came in at a shift change. So at first things were a little slow. Hostess took care of our drinks. Oysters came out in about 2 minutes. HOLY COW, these were monster oysters. Best I've ever had. Waitress was friendly and helpful. Cheap cheap beer. Can you have a better experience? By the way the grilled gator tail is fantastic.

Small, hole in the wall oyster bar that was AMAZING! Local hang out that was lots of fun. The raw oysters were super fresh and locally harvested. Highly recommend the fried green tomatoes as an appetizer. EVERYTHING was Delicious! Usually very crowded, we we there about an hour before closing time and were immediately seated and served. We all had a blast!
