Room service was not done before us arriving, prior customers 2 pairs of under wear were on the floor, their pile of used linens were in the corner for pick up, room smelled like smoke, bed was not clean, garbage was not taken out. There was a acrylic nail on the night stand with a note from prior customer saying their stay was great. The ice bucket used was in the refrigerator. Very dirty around touch areas of refrigerator. We bundled up all the linens including the bed linens and took them to the front desk, the man gave us new pillows, bedding, linens and towels but did not check in what we dropped off, nor did he have a new room to offer as they were full. When we were checking in there was another lady complaining about her room. Desk person said that he was not impressed with the cleaning people that he had gotten quite a few complaints that evening, and that they should not have been bad as they just got back from vacation from India.
I was at Christmas with my family when I saw I had a missed call no message, when we called it was a rude girl accusing us of stealing their linens and pillows. When we told her what happened she was very not sympathetic and rudely asked if the desk person offered us a different room, which we explained he did not. She said the room smelled like smoke but did not tell us she charged us an extra 100$ onto our credit card, so this dive now cost us 180 $.
There is a pretty heavy amount of homeless people that migrate through the parking lot all night, going to the woods behind the property.
It was horrible and deflated our Christmas wish I would have chosen a different place to stay. Thank you for the refund of the 100$report this review -

The room seemed newly remodeled. It was clean and quiet. A great price for a decent room!

The staff is nice enough. The housekeeping staff are very nice. The hotel is a bit run down and I would not suggest walking around your room barefoot. The rugs are super dirty. But not something that can be helped by the poor housekeeping staff. They need some deep cleaning shampooing. The furnishings were very outdated in the room. The desk chair and the other chair looked old and dirty. We covered them with sheets and used them that way. The breakfast was ok it was the typical carb fest. Bagels, donuts mini muffins cereal coffee juice and oatmeal.

The room smelled bad and the desk chair was filthy and wet!(with who knows what). If you walked on the carpet with barefeet then they would turn black because the carpet was so dirty. Dirty tub, mirrors, sink, well basically the whole place was just nasty!

My stay at Howard Johnson was enjoyable. The room I stayed in was on the first floor. It was clean and organized. The room did smell and the front desk informed me it was because of the flood. The pool area was well kept and slightly impressive.

Would be zero but we all know how it works. Apparently 4 people cannot share a room, even a room with 2 queen beds. It's just my husband, 4yr old daughter, mother and myself.
We are coming back to FL today after evacuating and our home is without power. I hope the next storm brings some karma their way.report this review -

Very comfortable stay. Comfy beds, and plenty of pillows. Polite staff. Really enjoyed my 3 nights there.

i am currently here & the first night there was a ball of pubes. whoever was here hadn't shaved in s while . anyways back to the topic my sister was sleeping & a cockroach climbed up her arm then we killed it. 3rd the showers looked like they've never been washed in a good 2 years. next i walked to tacobell at 10:30 pm & i saw a hooker & she asked me for my bean burrito... very disgusted. anyways this hotel is nasty, filthy. do not recommend.

The motel was cheaper than expected but the quality and service was equal to at least a 3 or better star motel. Would recommend and stay here again.

My family and I stayed here one night. And I must say, we were thoroughly pleased! Our room was very modern, clean, and comfortable. Robert at the front desk was very helpful and friendly, and willing to accommodate us since Expedia overbooked them on our room. Originally we had reserved a double bed room, however this hotel was booked solid so we ended up with a king size bed room. Speaking of which, that King sized bed was super comfortable! Well deserving of 5 stars.
