Real food, no alcohol, friendly people. We were going from Michigan to NJ and had a good dinner. Ice cream bar was a treat.

I'm her daughter, I love it and I don't understand why my parents hate it. I recommend it , though I'm sad they got rid of their chocolate ice cream dispenser. Food is wonderful, soup and salad is SUPER good.

Great add on lunch specials with soup and salad bar. Wonderful soups. Love the toppings for ice cream bar. Reasonably priced. Family friendly.

Old fashioned steak house. My steak was very good. Salad bar ok. Soup was really good. Not high end, more like a 70s Bonanza. Sit down service.

The salad bar was good but the beef tips were gristle and were not edible. When we told this to the wait staff, nothing was said to fix the problem.

Fantastic steak! Cooked all our steaks perfectly to order from rare to well. Salad buffet was smaller than some Hoss's but everything was fresh and hot/cold. Potato soup was like homemade. Service was fast and friendly,but most important accurate!

The food wasn't bad but the place is seriously LOUD. Between the fan, I think it was a fan and the no less than three screeching kids, from three distinctly different tables good luck talking to, well, anyone. The place was nearly empty, I have no idea why they would seat a couple with no kids where they did, no thought went into it that was abundantly clear. Not a place I would go for a relaxing meal. This is where you go if you're low on options, it's not even that economical, everything is an up charge, right down to the butter and marshmallows on the baked sweet potatoes. I've never been charged for butter before and marshmallows are seriously cheap so what the hell? I'm still baffled, honestly the best thing I can think to say about the place is that I didn't get sick from eating there, so it wasn't horrible. It just wasn't great.

We had a fantastic experience here. My kids and I were returning from a road trip and needed a healthy, satisfying meal for lunch. It was just serendipity that we landed at Hoss's.

We ordered a large steak tips entree to share, and it was delicious; tender and tasty. All of us took advantage of the salad bar, enjoying delicious soups (I had clam chowder, my son had corn chowder), a broad selection of fresh salad ingredients, and an impressive amount of salad bar style dessert options.

Our waitress was lovely. She was patient with my children (ages 8 and 10) who order for themselves and speak directly to waiters something some waiters find intolerable. She was attentive, cheerful, and helpful. And the bill was so, so small.

If we were locals, we'd be regulars. Alas, we live hours from this gem, but we hope others will stop by if they find themselves nearby and that locals enjoy.
