Almost everything in my Ohio house was handbuilt at Homestead Furniture. Their workmanship is not quite on a par with the ancient masters, but everything is solid, reliable, and well-made. They offer a wide variety of styles and designs and absolutely everything can be custom-ordered to fit your particular needs. In most cases, because almost everything is handmade, customized pieces are the same price, or nearly the same price, as copies of the showroom stock.

Purchased a bedroom set, bed, upright dresser and a dresser with mirror. The set on the outside is lovely but the rails for the drawers are made of plastic that break. The results in the drawers not being able to close but to tip inward. It appears the rails are also too short. So, may I suggest that you remove all drawers and check on the material the drawer rails are composed. If plastic, demand they be replaced with metal rails.

We were travelling through Amish Country and, on a whim, stopped in to see what Homestead offered. We had no plans to buy anything. We were helped by J. R., a wonderful sales person. He was extremely helpful and patient with us as we "window shopped." Well, the furniture is so beautiful, the quality so obvious, and the prices so reasonable, that we ended up buying several pieces of furniture for our home in Chicagoland.
