Picture it 2007. I'm driving from Columbus Ohio to Washington DC when my truck breaks down on the 70. After my car gets towed to a garage the Ohio State Highway Patrol was kind enough to drop me off here. My room was like a 1960's time warp, but was clean, the sheets were nice and crisp, and it was one of the most pleasant, though unusual, motel experiences I've had. Though it was a bit of a hike to town to pick up my vehicle.
Pretty disapointed, room was large but cold and had a terrible odourstale, mould like. They were pretty busy though and there was only the one room available, so I could have got the dudd.
Great place to stay
Great place!!!. Great rates !!! Quiet and close. Well worth a extra mile and a half drive from chain motels. Very very clean and well kept rooms.
This place is incredible! Bruce (owner) is the best, they have very nice & up to date accommodations. If you are anywhere near Bridgeport looking for a place to stay, I HIGHLY recommend Hillside Motel! So happy we found it! Being 20 hours from home we couldn't feel more at home :) Thanks Bruce & staff!
My husband and I stayed here traveling through on our motorcycles. It was a spacious, clean, and updated room with a flat screen TV, fridge, microwave, and table for 2. We enjoyed the front porch with the plants. We ate at Mehlman's Cafeteria, "up the hill", based on a recommendation from the office and it was like a home cooked meal-yummy. Bruce, the motel owner, was very friendly. Would definitely stay again if in the area.
My wife and I stayed at Hillside Motel as we were traveling through. I was hesitant to stay so far off the beaten path, but we didn't want to pay a lot to stay at a place for a couple hours. This motel is a great place to lay your head. It is a quaint little motel, and it's on a hillside, imagine that! We were extremely pleased with how quite it was, even though it was Friday night. The facilities were well maintained. The rooms are small, but hey, you can't beat it for the short time you may be there. The attendant was extremely friendly and helpful with our extra needs. Overall, we would recommend this motel for anyone needing a place to stop over for the night. Also, there is an amazing little diner 2 miles further down the road. It's called Sonny Boy. The attendant told us about it. My wife, my daughter and I ate there(with food left over) for a grand total of $7.50! We really enjoyed out bit of time spent here. Hope this helps you decide to stay here and save some money!
