I went to their open house to be scheduled for classes. One of the classes that I needed was not yet available. I was told to call back the following Tuesday and it should be available. I did so and it still was not available. I waited another week and called again only to be told that I would have to go back to the school again in order to be scheduled for the class. They would not do it over the phone like I was told that they would do. I still am not sure if it's available and school starts in less than two weeks.

First off, if I could, I would not even give this college one star. This is the nastiest, rudest, college I have ever seen. My sister, my mother, and I were going to be potential students to Belmont College. When we tried contacting anybody, they never return any emails, phone calls, or do not offer any kind of help!! When we go to talk to an adviser for upcoming classes we may be interested in, the meanest woman I have ever seen in my life (Jane Black) comes to discuss college courses with us. Let me just say three words, rude, nasty, and bitter explains it for this person!!! She treated us nasty, and was rude to my mother and sister, and after meeting this person, Jane Black, we will never go back to this college, and would not recommend this college for anybody else!!!

For one, they hold your financial aide and student loan money for months, then they disperse it twice within the semester Don't hold your breath, they are always open even for account of the weather, and if you miss more than three days, then they take your money. They don't give out loans, basically at Belmont, don't plan to be a full time student with no job, because they give you hardly any money to live off of, they also are constantly raising there tituition Which I have no idea why, because they are the smallest and function terribly. It's true financial aide, is terrible, I recently had to contact the president two days before my semester started because financial aide, didn't run my stuff through. Better off going to northern in wv because they give you money to live off of, they are cheap, and very nice. Another thing, books at Belmont are very expensive, they make you buy them there nowhere else, and half the time, you don't use your books

The financial aid department is unorganized. It's as if they expect new students to know what to do. They do not offer assistance unless you beat down their door and demand it. The instructors who I have had are great. Very helpful. The way classes are offered is not so great. It took me 4 years of going part time to graduate from the LPN program. This was because the classes I needed for the night program were not offered consecutively. Good instructors. Poor management and financial aid services.

I visited recently, and as for the comments from a few years ago, I really cannot say anything. But concerning the recent "1-star" rating, WITHOUT a comment, it is hard to respond. But if the star is because of the same reasons above, I learned a few things on my visit. First and foremost was the whole feeling of excitement around the areas they showed me. Apparently, after many years, they have a new president who is shaking things up. And there are different people in different positions who all seem eager to shake things up too (heard that from a faculty member). New buildings and programs, as well as a few new certificates I'm interested in (out of like 2 dozen new ones) tells me things must be changing out there. I might take some of my courses at their Cadiz location to start, but I can't wait to spend time on the main campus to see if I'm right abut the changes. I even heard they might offer some courses nearer Bridgeport! Anyway, 5-stars today! :-)
