Took our kids to see The Good Zoo and Christmas lights. We all had a great time! The staff was helpful and courteous. The only downside was that the miniature train display was down, and the kids were really looking forward to it. But otherwise the lines were not very long and we truly enjoyed it.

for about $170 two adults can stay overnight in a totally unimpressive room and drive through really unimpressive lights. We had really expected so much more since this place is supposed to be known for the lights. Very underwhelming. Everyone who worked there was very friendly though.

We also tried the arcade with our daughter, at least four of the machines just ate the money and literally did nothing..

The rooms were not very clean and the accommodations not all functioning. If you are willing to go see the lights, do not waste your money staying here.

Awesome place. Rooms were excellent, clean, well kept. People were very polite. We were there for 1 day/night and had seen the lights, all the shops, zoo and the museum. All the people were awesome. We wonder what it is like in the summer? It looks as if it would be a really great place with lots to do. If you want a seasonal getaway just you and your significant other I would highly recommend.

It was ok. Food was mediocre and Luke warm at the Santa breakfast and we were first seating at 8am. Service at the breakfast was 50/50. All the elevators broke on the first day there. There was only one in service when we arrived and we had a handicapped family member have to climb the 4 flights of steps. The room reservations were incorrect also. All 4 rooms were supposed to be adjoining and in a group, one with a fireplace and king bed. It had no fireplace and 2 queens. The reason we were given was that "reservations screws things up all the time" although it was booked in May. They did comp half the remaining balance to try to do something to correct the issue. The nature center kiln is broken so we couldn't make ornaments.

Try to visit the park from pittsburgh on a Saturday night. Traffic was at a stand still for miles. Took over 3 hours to move 1 mile. Then once we hit Bethany pike 3 miles from the park we sat there for another hour without moving more than 100 feet. Finally just gave up and turned around. This was the worst mistake I've ever made trying to visit that place. What a huge waste of time. Good Luck if you go. I hope you have a lot of patience. Your gonna need it.

I enjoyed my stay. The property is very well maintained. However, please put microwaves in the rooms. I bought food from your restaurant, wasn't able to finish it & had to toss it as I didn't have the capability to reheat it after refrigeration. I guess that may be a part of your plan to have people coming back to the restaurant for more, but it's flawed. Your food is mediocre & I'd rather try out nearby restaurants than go back for more.

The hotel was fairly nice however some of the rooms we're a bit old, especially the beds. However, they were very clean and affordable considering golf guests are essentially a captive audience. The staff was very friendly and helpful and I would certainly stay here again.

Need better signage giving directions to the various buildings. Location is very out of the way, taking additional time to get to destination. However, the view and scenery are wonderful. Staff are always friendly and helpful.

Our stay at Oglebay was definitely enjoyable. The zoo, museums, gift shops, and nature center were all rewarding experiences. The Fun Daze package was definitely worth it! The breakfast was delicious!!!!! All the workers were very helpful.

So, to be fair we were in the wrong accommodations. The cabin was too small for our party. Nevertheless, it was clean and the staff was responsive and courteous in all interactions. The outdoor pool is wonderful. The grounds are well kept. The environmental center was great. Their limited nature trails could be better maintained. The zoo was what you should expect for small zoo. Interacting with the omnipresent deer was fun. The kids had a nice time fishing. However, we spent as much time out of the park doing things as we did in the park, which kind of disqualifies this place as a destination for non-golfing families that are looking for things to do. If you are doing the cabins, be forwarned that the laundry 'facilities' amount to two washers and two dryers. Not a bad place. It is beautiful and the staff was great, just not a place I would enthusiastically recommend.

Wilson Lodge has the best brunch ever. I loved going there with my grandma when I lived in wheeling and it's always nice being able to visit anytime I am back in town

Came up for the weekend, a little getaway with my girlfriend, great experience. Our small double room was upgraded to a suite free of charge. Everything worked great, clean, no unexpected charges. There are plenty of things around the resort and the city of wheeling to do. Just no uber service ;) would come back. Been here twice now.

During my younger years my family had a yearly tradition of going to Oglebay. We used to go to the Good Zoo, watch the laser light show, go to the various shops and end the night by enjoying the lights. In previous years I've made it a point to take my friends to Oglebay when my family isn't able to. The nice thing about the lights is that every couple of years new displays are introduced. This is an amazing place that I would easily recommend to anyone

We had a great time. The lights were wonderful, my kids loved it. Breakfast was amazing. The room was kind of small but we didnt spend much time there. If you need some Christmas spirit go here. The only place with more Christmas spirit MAY be the North Pole.

We went as a family to see the Festival of Lights. Online it list other activities, such as the Festival of Trees, Ginger Bread House exhibit, maze, hay ride etc. All of which where completely underwhelming. The Ginger Bread House was about a 4x4 table, the Festival of Trees was an exhibit of a few small trees trees and used as a fundraiser, the maze was a two bail high maze for maybe a toddler, and the hay ride maybe shows you two light exhibits and lasts for only a few minutes. The Festival of Lights was fairly nice. In my own bias, the Festival of Lights in Charleston, SC is done right, and I believe Oglebay should take note. I'd honestly rather make the 12 hour drive to Charleston, SC than the 3 to Oglebay. Giving a 3/5 because the lights were indeed nice, but by far the best part of the day trip.
