Small place with quiet space for drinks. Was not really impressed with my time spent there.
Awesome chill place. They aren’t afraid to try things when it comes to beer.
Would have given 5 stars last year but they stopped letting outside food in, but all they offer to eat is paninis, and the beer isn't great anymore. They have game consoles but are missing games they used to have. Saving grace is that it's a chill place and they make a great root beer.
This place looks like it may have at one time been pretty nice, but it looks like zero maintenance has been done on the place. What looked to be a once nice outdoor seating area complete with horseshoe pit was overrun with vines and weeds, overturned trash cans, and piles of trash. The upstairs had many tvs with retro gaming systems attached, but the tables were all sticky, the windows dingy, and it looked like they didn't really bother to sweep the place. This is basically a dive bar with a small crowd of regulars, probably all from the apartment complex within walking distance, or nearby mobile home park. My wife and I walked in and were met by blank stares from regulars and staff alike. Not even a "hello" as we tried to figure out how to get upstair We felt like we weren't supposed to be there and after a few minutes at a sticky table, we decided to leave without ordering a single drink. They might have good beer, I don't know, but the atmosphere is atrocious and we won't be going back. It's a shame because this place is minutes from our new house, but Perrin is only a 12 minute drive, so we'll stick with that as our go-to!
This place was a super chill hole in the wall with great beer. Their IPA was great, and they had some really adventurous beers, too. My favorite was the Margarita Gose, which was a sour beer that tastes like a margarita!
Good beer but the biggest dive bar you've ever been to. Don't believe the photos on Google. The patio is nothing like the photo. The bartender opened the drain on the sinks and it flooded the bar floor while we were sitting there. Just let it run everywhere with no urgency to clean it up. The place looks like a warehouse with zero upkeep on the outside. If you have no standards about where you drink this may be the place for you.
Beer was good, but the place seems a little dirty and old. It was raining outside when I was there and the building had several leaks (including in the girls bathroom which made the floor wet). I would drink their beer again, but probably won't return to that location.
Hidden gem! One of Grand Rapids best! If you like craft brews but dont like the hoity toity hipster atmosphere and overpriced drinks that other breweries offer then the Hideout is the place for you. Down to earth, relaxed atmosphere with nintendo, darts and board games in the loft upstairs. No over priced french fries here, just free pop corn and good beers, cider, and mead.
Truly a hidden gem! Love rebellion mead.
Fun atmosphere, no food, games upstairs; sega, nintendo, darts, cards etc.. Good beer at comparable prices.
For what I like this place is pretty perfect but I understand why some like the flashier places more. The beer is all excellent and not expensive at all. Be sure to try the nitro brews when they have them. If you're into that kind of thing they have lots of stuff you can do while you drink (board games, darts, old video games). The location and atmosphere are pretty drab but the place isn't a dump. Bartenders are pretty cool.
