Hercules moved my elderly parents and did a GREAT job. They came in the day before the move and did all the packing, so moving day went smooth and quick!!. Taking special care when dealing fragile items. The crew was professional and VERY patient (my mom is 89yrs old and her husband is 94). I would recommend this company for any type of moving needs.
We paid extra to have delicate items packed - china, flat screen TV and several pieces of framed artwork. With just one exception, EVERYTHING that we paid extra to have packed was damaged (in the case of the china, we did not even get the extra packing as items were thrown into a wardrobe box). There were also one box and a dolly that never showed up. When settling our claim, we were reminded that claims are only based on weight of them item (unless you pay much more for coverage). We only asked for reimbursement for the extra we were charged to pack the items but that was denied as well. All told, we were offered $86.10 for what we estimated was about $4.000 in damaged items.
We don't have much experience with movers and perhaps they all have their challenges, but Hercules came recommended to us. Unfortunately we would not recommend them unless you pay for the extra insurnace.
Our move started out well with an on-time arrival for pickup. However, things deteriorated after that. Our move was interstate for a distance of 1500 miles and it took over three weeks for our furniture to arrive.
Upon arrival we found many pieces of furniture scratched or dented. Some of our items were missing. Things that had been disassembled were not re-assembled properly. The keyboard on our piano was locked up and the movers Hercules subcontracted with didn't have the proper equipment or knowledge to do a quality job moving a piano.
In selling us on Hercules, our initial contact pooh-poohed rivals who were disparaged as mere brokers. He said that the company was an actual mover. That may be true for moves around Houston and other parts of Texas, but Hercules acted as a broker for our move. Our items being transferred from one company to another are probably the cause for some being lost.
The true measure of a company can be taken when things go wrong. Everyone makes mistakes. Hercules says that it was founded to provide better customer service in an industry that is not known for its excellence. Unfortunately, Hercules is living up to the industry's overall reputation. It's been three months since our goods were delivered and we have not yet been able to reach a satisfactory resolution to the problems we experienced.
We have moved many times before, using Mayflower, North American and other companies. Hercules has been the worst, with more things damaged and lost in this move than any other. When North American moved us once the company repaired an antique desk that was broken without being argumentative. I would recommend a company more experienced in interstate moves and would suggest that you avoid Hercules.
HANDS DOWN THE BEST moving company around! I researched several other companies but couldn't be happier that we went with Hercules and Ray. I will never use a different company and refer Hercules to everyone I know that needs a moving company. They were upfront, honest, caring, and took great care to make the entire experience top notch and worry free. They took such great care of my things and went above and beyond to ensure that everything was done impeccably. Moving is always a stressful situation, but Hercules made it as stress free as it can be. They did everything. The price I paid was fair and so worth it. I have paid much more for much less with others and am thankful that someone referred me to Hercules. I highly recommend this company.
This was my second time using Hercules. In the past they were very professional and responsible. This time however I do not know what has happened to their company. First off I was accidentally booked for 2 days. Then I had to clarify with Alex that it was Larry’s mistake and I only needed one day. Then Larry told him I was moving the size of an apartment. However I was moving into a three-story three bedroom three bath townhome. They tried to show up at 5:30 PM to begin my move. Everyone refused to answer the phone because they knew we were upset. luckily after 10 different calls the dispatcher was able to get a hold of the movers coming and they were able to get there by 4:30pm. Late but still doable. The movers did a good job and were quick. However they did damage shatter a mirrored desk. This desk cost over $2000. For which I was paid out $90. They also damaged my walls. I made sure they noted it on the bill of landing they disputed the insurance claim and I had to go back and give another copy of the bill of landing with it circled where they had wrote the damage. For the damage to wall I was paid $200. I still have not received this money and I moved the beginning of May. I try to not even file a claim for the wall repair because I still have the original paint. And initially they had stated that they would take care of it and I should speak with him before filing the claim. They emphasize speaking with them before filing the claim however I phoned at least five times and emailed over 10 with no response. Therefore I went ahead and filed the claim anyway. But again $90 for something that cost $2500 is ridiculous. The lack of communication in this company is over the top. They are extremely unprofessional and will straight up ignore your calls. Do not use unless you don’t care about your stuff getting broken or ever getting a response.
