Rode the North Pole Express. Just so fun for everyone. Took two teens and two littles, and all had a great time and would like to do it again. Singing by super-friendly elves with a chance to join in if you like. Dancing encouraged. This is a slow, easy going train. Watch for the North Pole village and maybe Santa will visit?

We took our family up to ride the North Pole Express and the 4 little ones had a blast! They enjoyed the singing, the treats and meeting Santa Claus and all is helpers! Out biggest question going to this event was in regards to the cold. While the train is heated, the windows aren't sealed very well and those who sit by the windows get colder than those who do not. Also, the floor is very cold and I recommend wearing warm socks and boots! Everyone had a wonderful experience!

A wonderful little railroad to ride if you have the time. Winter trips are short and entertaining and they even off the very popular North Pole Express! The summer rides are really a fun time as the train takes you around the pretty reservoir and down Provo Canyon. Be sure to look into their special event evening trains too like the "Princess Train", "Rock and Roll Train", "Chocolate Lovers Train", and more!!

We went for the North Pole Express. It was fantastic. All the elf's were quite entertaining the entire ride. The chocolate chip cookies weren't that great but they weren't bad either.

We did the Polar Express. My 2 1/2 year old loved it! He was glued to the window the whole time. We got a cookie and hot cocoa. We sang Christmas songs and the staff was dressed as elves and a cook. Santa came a board and passed out a bell to everyone. We got warm on the train and took off our coats and hats and had our long sleeves on and was comfortable. It was about 30 degrees out side when we went.

The heber valley railroad was a overall fun trip, which we took to watch fireworks on Pioneer Day. The train is definitely historic, in it being very run down and old. The ride is extremely slow and rough. It is great for taking a scenic trip.

Really fun for kids on the Halloween train. The Halloween train doesn't follow the scenic route though, but so much fun you won't notice.

Great way to see the pretty fall colors! We took the Provo Limited that runs to Vivian Park, and even though we didn't have a chance to get out and enjoy a few minutes in the park, it was a good trip. The fiddle player was amazing, and the "sheriff" shared hilarious cowboy poetry with us.

With that said, I don't recommend buying a lunch beforehand. There is a snack car if you want a bite, but the lunches you purchase beforehand are a wee bit overpriced. Just bring a water bottle and a small snack and you will be all set!

If you are, or have, a kid, this place can be pretty cool.

If you don't, but your family is dragging you to it, bring a book. It is very boring.

The presenters are not professional and often break character, but you shouldn't really expect anything out of teenagers on a part-time job. At least the train worked

This is a well known tourist railroad, though they have not had steam for years it's a nice ride. Me, personally, I don't want to be entertained on the train but the young women who put on a show really get the kids up and dancing so it's a great trip for kids, and they are pretty good about letting people alone who don't want to participate. This RR runs many many theme trains so check ahead for one of your choice. I rode the short 20 minute run for Summer Solstice, was only $5 so a great deal! I have yet to ride the full length train down to Vivian Park, that looks like a very scenic ride.

We did the wild west ride. The entertainment before was good. The train ride itself was very boring. A 40 minute ride that went 5 miles an hour for 15 minutes then sit for 10 minutes while they move the engine and then 15 minutes back. We were very disappointed. Thought the ride would cover more distance. After driving 3 1/2 hours one way, to see this I would not recommend it to anyone. We had kids with us but even they were not impressed.

We took our kids aged 3 and 4 on the Wild West Days train for Memorial Day. Crazy Ani was awesome!!! The kids danced on the train. There were live musicians. There were sing alongs. The kids did pony rides after. The train ride was 40 minutes. It was WAY more beautiful than the Western Maryland Mid Railroad which my kids also loved. Utah late spring is GORGEOUS! You have to see it. I'm going to do ALL the train rides, the 90 minute and the three hour. The views are just spectacular with the river running along side the train, farm animals and even a deer that came right up to the train as we passed by!!! Can't say enough. It's worth every penny!

The experience of riding an old train around can be a lot of fun! Our kids had a pretty good time on the "Polar Express", but the entertainment value wasn't quite there as this train is staffed with high school kids without a lot of training.

What a fun family activity. The train ride was fun especially with the concessions on board and the dancing Easter bunnies! My kids absolutely loved the ban animal petting zoo and the amazing magician show! Great times!

First time riding. The train station and parking lot was very crowded 30 minutes before departure. The train itself is reasonably clean but in need of renovation and painting, yet the aging cars and old fashioned seats were charming nonetheless. The ride is gentle and slow, passing through a scenic landscape. Snacks and drinks are available for cheap.

This train is best for families with children. Adults may find it a bit boring. Still, you should try it at least once if you are able.
