Came out for the day with the family. There are of nice trails to follow. The old growth forest is really neat. Great place also if your into bird watching. Really nice visitor center, with very nice people.

This campground is fantastic! The sites are large and have a lot of privacy, the tent sites are deep so you aren't right on the road, all the sites have a fair amount of trees in between them. Landscaping in this park is beautiful and offers a wilderness feel even though you're in a campground, a lot of thought and intent was put into the landscaping. There are blackberry bushes everywhere - we loved eating fresh blackberries all day! Great playgrounds - much nicer than usually found at campgrounds. The old growth forest and hiking trails are awe-inspiring and not to be missed. This 800 acre park has a lot to offer, it's worth taking time to explore!

I remember coming here as a kid and being bored that my dad brought me somewhere that there were only trees to look at. Fast forward about thirty years and my husband and I spent the morning here with our three kids. I was impressed at the clean, up to date facilities and trails. I appreciated the fact that many trails were ADA accessible. The staff we encountered was friendly as well. My kids enjoyed the trees much more than I did as a kid. We will be back!

What a great place, take the old growth trail, it is fascinating. You will also see a historic Christian Church with a tremendous prayer engraved on the front wall. You will walk through a old lumberjack town/museum that is very interesting. This is worth the 1-2 hour stop. There are two beautiful lakes nearby that are very picturesque.

We stayed at campsite 38, and our site flooded during a strong rainstorm. We noted several other sites along that outer stretch that also puddled up, so be prepared for that to happen if it rains. Other than that, our campsite was nice and secluded.
We went canoeing and fishing on the Bright and Glory Lakes, which are near-identical, filled with trout, around 50 feet deep, and smooth as glass.
They are much bigger than they look on the map. There are loose-gravel boat launches for each. Elsewhere, the Logging Museum, Chapel in the Pines, and Visitor Center were very nice. They were educational, well maintained, full of artifacts, and the center had a small gift shop with good merchandise. It's definitely a place I will visit again.response / report this review -

Great half day trip. Interesting history about Michigan's logging past. Great for kids. There is plenty of things for them to be hands on with. Pretty hikes through the trees. We will go back and visit again.

Camped overnight on the way downstate. Sites are all paved and spaced out nicely. Restrooms were very clean.

I have visited Hartwick Pines many times since I was young. last summer some of my family and I hiked 6.2 miles through the many trails. The hike gets better every time. I took many great pictures throughout the hike.

Great place for a short hike in the woods. The main trail is paved so it's easy to follow and is accessible for a wheelchair or stroller. There are special events in the summer and trails for cross country skiing and snowshoeing​ in the winter.
