This is such a cool place and the sand is super fine. The patterns, soft winds, changes of temperature in the sand, the views of this vast place and the sense of solitude here is great. A total must do experience if you appreciate nature. Totally worth the drive.

A sea of dunes. This is a pretty cool place. It's not quiet with all the utvs running around.

There was no trash can. Nice place in the dunes to stop for pictures, bathroom, or ride your desert vehicle.

Dunes are amazing. Unless you have a dune buggy or other means of recreation, I wouldn't plan to spend a large chunk of the day here, but it's still worth the drive if you're in the Imperial Valley already.

Stumbled across this on the way to LA from the Grand Canyon, always wanted to walk across sand dunes and this narrow seeming strip was a delightful surprise :)

Great sand dunes stop. There is a very close dune you can walk up. Go early in the morning or the sand will be too hot to stand on. Flip flops are recommended. My kid loved it.

Great look out in the Dunes. Nice place to get a feel for how big the dune area is with out have to hike or ride a great distance. Also good picture taking location.

Surreal place to experience the largest area of sand dunes in California. Be prepared for a crowd.

This place feels like another world, with sand dunes stretching out to the horizon. Absolutely worth a quick stop for the view and a short walk. Watch out for OHVs if you walk though.

Beautiful natural View but be careful don't go to the soft sand I have learned the lesson in the hard way
