Hartville Hardware is an amazing place! The employees are always so pleasant and helpful! There is so much to look at in the store as well as various unique items! Prices are okay.
We take our dog there all the time to just walk around which is an added perk! :)

Selection alone gives them 4 stars. The tool selection is excellent. Their prices are full retail so wait for a sale if possible. There really is something for everyone at Hartville Hardware.

I have been a supporter of this store for the last 5 years. Lately I don't think it is worth the time to drive there. I have purchased a good amount of rough sawn lumber over the years as well as many miscellaneous tools.
Last week I stopped in to buy some 8/4 walnut. The small amount on the rack was picked through and definitely not worth the (overpriced) cost. I have been willing to pay a little extra over the years because of the local feel of the store. I went to check in the yard to see if there was any walnut outside. A gentleman told me he had some in the warehouse and would have it on the rack that day. I went later that night and the next day and it still wasn't out. I bought lumber elsewhere.
Today was my tipping point. I had a small piece that I needed to run through a drum sander. My sander has been giving me problems. I remembered as I was buying lumber a few years ago a salesman told me they have a large sander for customer projects. I stopped in at noon and found a nice gentleman (Dave Wilson) who told me that the guys who work in the shop were at lunch. He told me if I'd be willing to wait until they returned that I could get my job done as I waited. This was a 16x24 inch panel that needed 2 or 3 passes on the sander. 5 minutes max. When I went back in, the guys i the lumber yard sent me to a salesman who told me it would take 2 weeks minimum to get my job done. Obviously I left. I really doubt that I will ever return. It used to be my favorite store but it's just not worth the headaches and extra cost.response / report this review -

Love this place! There's even a few houses inside that how big this place is. Great selection of all kinds of things. The only things that I didn't see them have is produce and meats, but you can get them at the market place.

If you shopped the Hartville Hardware Christmas Open House last week, check your receipt. Lucky me, I scratched off was for a 40% discount. Problem was that it was only applied to the first item, the rest of my items were only given a 21% discount. Their advertised special was that the discount would be applied to your entire order. Sadly, this isn't the first time this has happened. I experienced the same thing last year at this same sale, seems to be a gimmick of theirs. If you bring this to their attention, they will issue a refund for the difference.

They have anything you want, my family and I have been shopping here for over five decades and now that they moved into the new building we're still shopping here I buy stuff for my business we buy Home Hardware and appliances they're great people the people that work for them are great

Really a destination type experience, you can spend hours just browsing. This store has everything, including great service. If you have not been to this store it is worth taking the time to visit. What a lucky community.

They had the best prices by a long shot on our new washer and dryer. The delivery guys were absolutely fantastic and got them down into an incredibly small and difficult basement. They also took out our three washer/dryers even after delivering 2. Jacob and Austin did a great job and we will happily use Hartville again!

The customer service is unbelievable. I have never stood more then ten minutes in a department without someone coming over to assist. The quality products have made our home into the treasure it is. This is a fantastic store from appliances to lumber and everyone in between.

You do not know the full measure of a company until you have a problem. We bought a complete set of appliances from them. Refrigerator, oven, dishwasher, and microwave. One of which has been nothing but problems. Maybe they sent a repair guy one too many times, prior to replacing. The bottom line is that they replaced the problematic appliance. I was referred to Hartville Hardware because of their customer service, and will continue to use and recommend Hartville Hardware because of their customer service.

From the moment you walk in to the moment you leave you feel like family. The staff here are beyond amazing! The store is gorgeous! If your visiting Hartville make sure to stop by here before you leave! You won't be sorry you did!

Looking/buying flooring. Needed some guidance, had many questions, and the two people we "cornered" had absolutely no interest in helping or even getting off their chairs. The gentleman kept pointing to where we needed to go instead of physically walking with us to look at samples. We have been Hartville residents for over 30 years and it seems they have lost alot of that hometown, personal service since they moved to new building. Such a shame. After being treated as if we were a bother, we left and have since went to Menards. They WANTED to help us and were happy doing so.

I started going there 11 years ago when we first moved to the area. It was 1/2 hour away but was the only place I could pick up a rental sander at a convenient time for my work schedule. Once there I was hooked. I told my family that I had found the Heartthrob Hardware Store. The old store was great, the new one is better. Hugh variety of tools and most everything one needs for home, farm and contracting. We take visitors there for the experience. I'll still drive there 1/2 hour if I have the time to bypass the other big stores. I highly recommend it with no reservation at all.

I always shop this store. I rarely use The web site: the web site is mostly informational and should not deter others from coming to a store that prides on Customer Service. The employees are always knowledge of all products sold in their department and are readily available; unlike most big-box stores. Top pick!! I tell all my friends about Hartville Hardware.
