Have been to Hand in Hand a couple times now, have always had a decent experience, not great but not horrible. Well everything changed, went there one Saturday night with my mom's friend, noticing they were very short handed I went inside and told them we just sat down there was no rush but when they get a chance we are new customers, the 2 servers quickly snapped at me and said they would be with me when they get a chance. (I've done serving and its not an easy job so I have the most respect for them but when you snap at me for giving you heads up, this is already going to be a bad experience). After sitting 15 minutes at a dirty table a server finally came to take some of the plates, we then asked if we could order drinks she seemed surprised and annoyed to do this. I ordered a vodka soda and my friends mom ordered a 7 and 7, after waiting another 15 minutes and no drink, we left. Went down the street to Atkins and about 10 minutes our server found us! We told her we weren't paying for lack of service and no drinks, once again she forcefully said "what am I suppose to eat this" it was $16. You're telling me when your place is already short staffed and super busy that you're going to leave to hunt down 2 customers that never got their drinks and were there for a half hour for $16! Again, I worked serving and I would have given this order to another customer or back to the bar (not uncommon drinks) and tell my boss, extremely unprofessional, this waitstaff will never amount to anything but serving if this is the kind of customer service they think is acceptable.

I walk in, the place is empty, I ask a server if we could please have some service because we had been waiting 15 minutes, it only took another 15 before they came out. They were super rude the whole time. I also ordered a Jameson neat, REALLLLLY easy to get right. But they didn't. It was really confusing for them apparently.

Hand in Hand is my favorite place to go to sit outside with a group of friends. The atmosphere, settled in the heart of Virginia Highlands, is eclectic and fun. You can't have a bad day/night if you start or end here. Don't get me started on the Poutine and let me tell you I know my Poutine..

If you can ever find a beer that isn't tapped out, it's over priced. Food is bland. Service is apathetic. Too many good spots in ATL to waste your money here.

They removed all their specials, which were the main reason people went there, and the waitress was rude when we asked about them. She curtly explained they were eliminated a couple weeks before our visit. The inside has a terrible dark feel, and the music that plays outside is horrible 90s music. We were the only people there on a Sunday afternoon, while when they still had specials, the patio was packed.

$1 fish tacos and $1 PBR on Sundays can't really go wrong. The outdoor patio was swarming with huge but friendly bees.

The patio is great for a sunny day or warm evening and gets pleasantly crowded inside on the weekends.
The service however on the patio is horrible regardless of how busy it is. Expect to wait a significant amount of time before the staff acknowledge you let alone take your order.
The food is also dissapointing. My fish and chips were cold and felt like they had been cooked in advance and left out on the counter.
I want to like this pub, they just make it so so difficult!

Sunday Funday on the patio with dollar beer and tacos is one of the best things in this city.

Good pub. Good food. 2 dollar tacos on Sundays, used to be $1 but who's counting?
