The hotel is located right off the freeway and accessible and being in a very busy part of town it was still a breeze to find. The hotel instelf was nice and as far as I could tell it was very clean and inviting. The greeter was very nice and helpful although I had to ask all the questions to get any info. He did not just relay all the pertinent info (this may be a small thing but typically you're given all necessary information straightaway). Everyone was kind and our room was comfortable with a pleasant view. Our only real complaints was the fact that onsite parking was not included with room rental (an extra $14.75) and even if someone wanted to just park on the street, it is nearly impossible to find something close by.

PARKING: not happy to leave my keys with attendant. Parked in lot in front of hotel, not the hotel lot but told it would be the same. Attendant left key in the car. VENUE FOR SEMINAR : Room was too cold and getting colder as day went on. Could hear music that was either in another location or from room speakers that played in the background as speaker or video was being presented. Wi-Fi was slow and speaker has difficulty with videos. RESTAURANT : Odd things served and prices were high. Too high to expense to my employer. Ended up getting a can of soda for $2 from check in desk instead of eating. LOBBY: Lovely fireplace but lobby very bold unless you were on top of the fireplace.

The hotel looks like it's been recently remodeled, right in the heart of downtown Albany. There are lots of bars/restaurants in the area. Rooms are nice and clean. And more importantly the staff is very friendly and accommodating.

I was here for a work conference. My review is limited to the breakfast provided and the conference areas. Starting there, they are nice and offer multiple sizes for different group requirements. They provided a good selection of refreshments. The provided daily breakfast is actually way above average for a hotel giveaway. They had a waffle station uncluding fresh fruits and honey, plus whipped cream for the kid in you. Nice variety of pastries, breads, cereals and juices including guava, tough to find around here. Clean area, friendly staff.

We were a little unnerved when we arrived to find that they did not have rooms available because they were not cleaned yet. This only made us wait about 10 minutes and when we asked if we could get our parking comped, the person at the desk was super nice and did this for us. Rooms were nice. Bar area was nice too as we went there after our concert.

Had drinks at this brand new Hotel bar in downtown Albany. Beautiful bar, excellent access from the street & great parking lot right across to the hotel. Prices for drinks were ok and the quality was good. Service was excellent. The overall look and feel of the hotel was very new and very modern.

Was far from the crossgates mall. The lobby looked really nice and the continental breakfast had a lot of options. The rooms were relatively clean, but one of the rooms we got had a light bulb out in the bathroom. Not a big deal and was fixed quickly.

We stayed here the second night of a 2 day trip and were wishing we would have been here both nights. Great stay in many ways. Very clean and updated for the price, great location. Downsides (which weren't enough for me to give less than 5 stars): Breakfast was good, but they were less than prepared for the traffic - struggled to keep items stocked. Parking sucks given that it's all valet. And the walls seemed on the thin side. Other than that was a wonderful stay!

We selected a Whirlpool suite for a 2-night stay for our anniversary. The room is nice with updated modern fixtures and comfortable furniture. We arrived 2 hours earlier than the expected check-in time (posted online as 2:00, actual check-in time was 4:00), but they moved quickly to accommodate us within 30 minutes of our arrival. Multiple quality restaurants surround the area. Breakfast is your standard continental breakfast, with two waffle makers and lots of choices of food. The valet service is professional and quick.
However, we requested a complete bedding replacement for the second night (you know how anniversaries go) but none of the bedding was changed. I think our request got lost in translation to the housekeeping service, who only provided a second comforter and four extra pillows at the foot of the bed.
Overall not bad, but housekeeping could do better.response / report this review -

I only stayed here one night, but I enjoyed it. The staff at the front desk were friendly and helpful. My room was clean and comfortable. They are near pretty much everything in downtown, which was great since I took the train into town and did not have a car. I ate at the restaurant and it was good also. There was nothing outstanding, but I would certainly come back.

Hampton is a B+ for hotels that are in this category. The good thing is that it is very convenient being in downtown Albany so you can walk to restaurants and bars. The bad is that it has a shuttle but they really will not take you anywhere. The breakfast is fair. The staff is nice.

The staff was great. The room was clean and updated, and the bed was comfortable. The hotel is within walking distance to a number of great restaurants and bars, and entertainment. No complaints.
