First time in a hostel. It was very clean, welcoming. Basic accomadations, no frills but that's all you need when the city has so much to offer. Doors were also very secure, had to have room key and get through two doors. Felt very safe and clean. Amazing experience, the price was high for how simple everything was, but it's to be expected. They seemed to provide a lot of planned social activities but we didn't participate only because of timing.

Best price for accommodations near Boston Common. Great service, free breakfast, and kitchen access. Conveniently located across the street from Tufts Medical (underground train) station. Boston Pizza next door serves great fish and chips. Retail shops & Chinese food convenient also.

First of all, the staff are very friendly. They will happily answer any questions you have and won't rush you at all. Place is fairly clean and just like any hostel. Breakfast is standard, but I liked that there were bagels available and a quick toaster. Towel etc are supplied but I would recommend bringing your own shower gel. There is also a locker for post check out(11am) city exploration.

Great location. Walking distance from Amtrak and Interstate Bus Service at South Station along with the airport link. Knowledgeable staff. Organized includes breakfast. Clean, clean and quiet. Lastly the least costly place in Boston

I’ve been to many hostels all around the world and this HI Hostel was a very good experience! Easy to reach, tidy and clean and a very helpful, friendly and supportive staff! Breakfast is for free which is nice! The restrooms and showers were tidy! The lounge/check in area is super cozy!! WiFi was good and quick! Beds are comfortable. You are offered one free towel and a locker. Bring your own padlock! The price for 1 night is approximately $50. You should book in advance as it’s usually crowded or booked out! They also offer free ear plugs and cookies which makes it even more comfortable. I’d definitely book again!

Was my first Hostel experience. The city is just way too expensive to get anything else. I was very pleased. Staff are nice and helpful. Facilities are well maintained and very clean. Nice large kitchen with all of the necessities. Close to everything. Lots of cheap Chinese food around. Would stay again and would recommend.

The only complaint I have is that the doors are super loud. I know the dampers are adjustable and can be made to close more softly. In the morning when everyone is waking up it’s very noisy.

We stayed in a private room with its own bath. Was just like a small hotel room, but no dressers. They also have the standard hostel accommodations available - big rooms with many bunks and lockers, at very low prices. Our room was more expensive, but still cheaper than the hotels in that area of Boston. Our bed was very comfortable, and the place has a young, friendly vibe, with lots of casual common space. Staff was great too.

I couldn't be more pleased with my stay at this hostel. The location is perfect with easy access to anywhere in the city either by foot or public transit. The rooms and bathrooms are clean and functional. The breakfasts are simple, but included in the price for the room which leaves more money to do other things. The outings are well executed and abundant depending on interests. I connected with people from all over the world while having the ability to explore a vibrant city on a budget. I'll definitely return should I decide to travel to Boston again.

HI Boston is a really good hostel. It's friendly, modern and clean with good facilities. It has luggage space in your room and it has a really spacious kitchen and social area. The hostel always runs social activities so that you can meet new people.

I've just started my stay, and so far it's been great. Bed is comfy, rooms have reasonable space, breakfast was good, and everything is very clean. Towels provided and the bathrooms are individual rooms, not a shower room style I've had at other hostel's. So far, not bad!

HI Boston Hostel is a great place to stay. I stayed for a couple of nights in a 7-room men's dorm. The room and bed were clean. The common bathroom was also clean. No issues there. Each bed has a reading lamp and power sockets. You also get a large locker in which I stored my large suitcase (like the ones you carry on international flights), and a handbag. You need to carry a lock and key. If you don't have one, you can buy at the hostel. You can also rent lockers of different sizes if you want. My flight was in the evening. So I checked out in the morning, rented a locker and kept my luggage in it, did some sightseeing and shopping, then came back and collected my luggage in the afternoon.
You get a basic breakfast with bread, fruits, milk, cereal, coffee, and juices. There's a kitchen if you want to cook your own food. They have ovens, stoves, utensils, and cutlery. You can store food in a fridge.
The hostel has some great common areas, where you can sit and chat with people, play some games, or spend some time reading. The staff also organizes some free excursions and trips to places like Harvard and MIT. They post the schedules on a board.
I liked the Boston Hostel more than the one in New York. The hostel has really nice staff. The location is great. You can walk to Boston Common, do part of the Freedom Trail, or visit Downtown Crossing for shopping.

HI Boston is a cool, modern hostel. It has a large shared kitchen and lots of communal areas. I haven't stayed there but I was given a tour of the rooms by a friend who works there. The dorms have large lockers with a small hole at the back that allows you to plug your charger to the wall plug behind the locker and charge your appliances while they are safely locked away. The private room I saw was surprisingly big and nicely decorated.
