Love the foodservice is mostly good, at times a little slow but always friendly. Hate the ordering lines during brunchshould have table service. As a result I avoid it for brunch even though the food is incredible. One of the most amazing bakeries. Outdoor seating is fun and unlike any other place in Durham. Love the architecture and art work. Parking is the pits but food and atmosphere outweighs the effort to park. A must stop on the Durham restaurent scene.

Great pastries and bread. The Cafe has good food and I look forward to trying it out since there is a new chef. Also great coffee drinks and great outdoor seating. Parking can be challenging when it is crowded.

My first time there was this past weekend. We only went there because the lines at my normal Place were way too long. I was pleasantly surprised to find gluten-free options at a bakery a lovely ambience and accommodating staff. If gluten free doesn't matter your options are absolutely delicious the gluten-free options are delicious as well

We stopped by the bakery for a last minute vegetable quiche for a dinner party. It was very, very good too but they only had ONE available. I guess I found it bothersome in that there was a lack of baked/pastry dinner/breakfast foods available other than just the quiche. No Shepherds pie, Chicken Pot Pie, Mince Meat Pieonly straight up desserts. Fine I guess. But I would love it even more if I could stop by and pick up a quick dinner pie to heat up at home for the family.

Prices were fair. Everything appeared clean. Staff was nice. We'll be back.

Guglhupf has a wonderful, calm atmosphere, with delightful paper lanterns inside and trickling fountain outside. The pastries are good and I enjoy their foamy chai latte. It's relaxing without being overly trendy. My six-year-old is able to come with me for a special after-school snack, or I can meet a friend for coffee.

Great food, delicious schnitzel. Fruit tarts, pastries and baked goods are all amazing but avoid the cakes. Good cake happens once in a blue moon. One day they had great individual Saint Honores, but have never seen them again. If you have any comments or questions avoid the owner if at all possible or you'll never go back.

This is one of my favorite bakeries I've ever been to. I had a cream puff, a chocolate torte, & a chocolate Guglhupf, but I wanted everything! I'm German & everything was made traditionally, fresh in house. It was all authentic & I appreciated the time & effort the owner put into maintaining a standard of excellence. I can't wait to go back! ❤❤❤

Loved this sprawling cafe and its weekday breakfast scene (assume it must be mobbed on weekends.) Handcrafted latte on an open air patio with small corners created here and there, and a mural in progress. Farmers omelet was delicious - sausage, creamy cheese, and onions straight out of French onion soup. But the crowning glory was the fruit tart, brought out fresh when I was at the register. Fresh cream, tasty crust, and big fruit taste.

I ate here on a Sunday morning with my girlfriend. The line was out the door but it moved quickly. You order up front and take a number to your table. The outdoor seating was really nice. It was a warm, sunny day and there were a lot of people there. We didn't have any trouble finding a place to sit and the food was delivered quickly. Everything tasted great. My only gripe would be that coffee refills cost $0.50. It's a minor complaint though. Overall this was a fun, romantic place to have a leisurely breakfast. I can't wait to go back! The bakery is fantastic, too!

This is the best restaurant in Durham hands down. They kill a stellar breakfast, lunch, dinner and they have an awesome bakery. It's elegant yet laid back. The outside patio is beautiful. I recommend this place for any occasion.

Food is always amazing, service is great, and the decor of the restaurant is awesome. Go for the bread alone honestly! Love the selection of German beers. One of our favorite restaurants in the triangle, hands down!

The bakery and baked goods are great but on the restaurant side the complete lack of table service or a host of any kind to manage the chaos of getting a table makes going to this place a nightmare. The level of chaos when you walk in on the weekend is frankly not worth it. The fend for yourself situation of finding a free table on the restaurant side brings out the worst in people and really makes coming here more painful than its worth. My suggestion to the management is get control of your place by managing seating so you can improve the experience of your guests. Even if you still choose of path of no table service at least be responsible hosts and show some interest in the treatment of your customers. To guests if you are looking for a relaxed comfortable place with any form of service this is definitely not it.

I may be the only Filipino who loves German food but Schnitzels are one of my favorite. We were in town and I found this restaurant online. Of course we ordered the Wiener Schnitzels which were set on top of roasted potatoes and served with other veggies. I also ordered the mini salad, also delicious with a wonderful vinaigrette dressing. My only complaint, why can't they have another restaurant near us in Virginia.
They also have a bakery cafe worth visiting, and that is exactly what we did they next morning. The elephant ears are so much better fresh than the kind you buy in stores.

Legit German bakery restaurant. Charming setting, but parking can be difficult, especially during rush hours.

They have delicious pastries. Freshly made every day. You must try their lemon tart! Their entrees can be a hit or miss, but I definitely recommend going here for their pastries and coffee.
