Dr. McElhinny and her caring, dedicated staff have taken care of our dogs for almost 20 years. We can't say enough good things about them. They know our pets and treat them like their own. Highly professional people in an immaculate atmosphere. You won't find a better clinic, or better people in Western PA.

I went to Green Valley on 5/22/2017 because my 10 year old Giant Schnauzer Hope which was not feeling well. Dr. McElhinny listen to what I thought and did a complete exam. She did blood and urine test.

Today, we called Green Valley to schedule a rush appointment for our 12yr old lab, Homer. Due to the circumstances, they were able to get us an appointment within the hour. Unexpectedly we found out that our beloved family member had Hemangiocarcinoma and there was literally nothing we could do. We were given all of the options and what started as what we thought was a simple trip to the vet to get some meds turned into our worst nightmare. Dr. McElhinny and her staff stayed almost 2 hours past closing time to allow me book a babysitter for our young child and drive to the office to be with my wife and say goodbye to one of my best friends. We were told to take as long as we needed and treated amazingly. I cannot thank Dr. McElhinny and her entire team for going above and beyond my already high expectations to accommodate my wife and I. We have been with the Green Valley team for close to 10 years and would recommend them unequivocally.

It's hard to write about just 1 experience at GVVH. Their like family to my partner & I. For the last 10 yrs., we have rescued several older dogs that nobody has wanted. On a weekly basis we are either there for an appt. or calling for advice. The Dr's & staff have been with us for heartworm, cancerous tumors, liver failure, many surgeries; just to name a few things. But, when it's time to finally say good-bye to one of our many fur-children, the staff & Dr's are as sad to see them pass as we are. God Bless to the entire staff at Green Valley Vet Hosp.

I have been a client of Green Valley Veterinary Hospital for the past 25 years…way back when it was Dr. Kaufman at the helm. I was SO HAPPY when Dr. McElhinny (affectionately known as Dr. “Mac”) acquired the practice from “Doc” Kaufman, because I KNEW animals passing through the clinic would be in excellent hands. This practice has guided me through 6 German Shepherds, 2 cats, and a litter of 9 German Shepherd puppies. Over the years I have seen doctors and staff come and go – as is the normal practice in any business, but through all of the transitions and changes, one thing has remained a constant…the EXCELLENT care I get from both Dr. McElhinny and Dr. Burton-Hall. Many years ago I had a GSD who nipped a vet tech at another facility and ended up in quarantine because of it – Dr. Mac saw me through that one! Dr. Mac again came to my aid when the same GSD decided to eat part of her bed stuffing and needed emergency exploratory surgery. My current GSD is a canine athlete – a titled dock-diving dog, with allergies galore and extremely high energy. I don’t know where I’d be without the expertise of these vets to not only diagnose the allergies and continue treatment, but also to refer me to a dermatologist specialist. Why did they refer me to the specialist? Because that’s how much they CARE about my dog…enough to want the very best care even above and beyond what their capabilities might be. In 2015 I sought out their aid when I returned from a competition in Erie with my GSD’s tail wrapped up like a mummy because my hotel room door slammed shut on it and broke a blood vessel. The doctors picked up where the Erie vet left off, and administered months of laser treatments to aid and speed the healing. I just returned from a dock-diving competition in Canada. Crossing the Canadian border with a dog can be tricky, but again these doctors jumped on board and I left for Canada with all of the necessary vaccines, health certificates, and canine paperwork to get me into and back out of Canada hassle-free. I and my animals are forever grateful to this clinic for all they do for us. As you can see, my veterinary needs do not fall under the column headed “routine!” The clinic is the cleanest and most well-equipped I’ve ever been in, and because of my travels, I’ve been in a few! Dr. Mac and her staff stay on the cutting edge of the latest medical technologies. Last, but certainly not least – walking through the doors of Green Valley Veterinary Hospital is like walking into a home…beautiful decorations greet the eye(which change seasonally thanks to one certain vet tech!)…no matter what you’re there for, the very environment has a calming effect.

So they remove my post from their Facebook page because of my review, so I will leave one here. Terrible vet no follow up call, glue your Doberman ears for posting since they do not have a clue how to do it. Lousy customer service and extremely rude since they clearly didn't care about my pets comfort. So they don't call the night of or the day after to check on our dog knowing we left unsatisfied but after we leave a review of services rendered they call and then we get this in the mail! So clearly when you are able to make reviews on a business's page and they don't like it they send you a letter saying they will no longer provide medical care to our pets instead of trying to fix the problem and attempt to make the customer, who should always be treated as right, satisfied and happy! Seems all they cared about was getting money and not the after care concerns! Will never recommend any of our animal friends to this establishment!

Staff is Very Nice &Place is Very Clean, Appointments aren't scheduled on top of each other, so you &your pet aren't running into other pets, very quick to schedule appointments, get you in a room, examine & treat your pet, & get you out so your pet isn't waiting uncomfortably & nervously to get back to the safety &familiarity of their home, & they are the cheapest we have found, &unlike other places that required 2seperate visits just to get a rabies shot, each visit also cost 2x more, we were able to have our pet seen for a 1st time examine &get the rabies shot, as well as being able to choose if &what else we wanted them to give &/or test for, &with each shot/test the added cost doesn't include crazy unknow fees, like for just a rabies shot, including the updated tags, was $10 + examine, all were done in the same visit, the visit cost was under $60

Dr Burton-Hall is a super star veterinarian. All the staff are gracious and friendly.
My only wish is that the Hospital had after hours on-call. When you trust a practice that's golden and taking your pet to someone you don't know is risky.response / report this review -

I have been taking my cats to GRVH since moving to the area 2 years ago. The doctors and staff have been wonderful and are very caring with my animals. They are extremely knowledgeable and I can't imagine going to any other veterinary practice.

Dr McElhinny and her staff at Green Valley are the most patient and considerate I've ever met. My cat needed to be seen and they were there. He was evaluated and tested immediately, then sent home with a care plan. They have made several follow-up calls to be sure both my cat and I are doing ok with the after care. They absolutely get 5 out of 5 stars from this pet owner!! Thanks for caring🐈

I've been to a few highly-rated vets in the area, and Green Valley is hands-down the BEST. We received care and attention that we've never received anywhere else. When two of my dogs were ill, they spent extra care with them and saw us several times last-minute when I needed them. Additionally, they called in to check-up with us and continued to provide us exceptional care until both my pups were healed and healthy. I cannot thank them enough for all that they did, above and beyond, and I would recommend them to everyone looking for a vet who will truly love your animals as much as you do.
