Modern economical rooms governed by friendly caretakers. Quite comfortable on waterfront boulevard. Walking distance to parks lakefront & local business. recommend & will return Peace

1 star is me being very generous, while during my stay there was a fire above my room and we were not able to stay. They offered to relocate us and we just wanted a refund so we could go home. They are now refusing to refund our money.

I recently had to drive to Traverse City for a business trip. After being on the road all day I was so happy to find that my room was exactly what I needed to wind down and get the rest I needed. Not only was it clean and comfortable but it was so quiet. The lady in the office (Carla I think her name was) even helped me with directions for my meeting. Her husband was so nice too. He carried my luggage to my room. Most motels just offer one of the carts. When I come back to Traverse City again I will definitely stay here again. And I love the fact that this quaint little motel is still standing. Not many of them left.

I stayed here with my friends a few weeks ago and had absolutely the BEST experience! The room was extremely clean. The woman who assisted us when we first checked in was incredible- so accommodating, sweet, welcoming, and so professional. From the minute we checked in to the moment we left, I felt 100% welcome.

Every time I go back to Traverse City, I will be staying here (and recommending it to all of my friends).

This place deserves a chance guys. The rooms were surprisingly clean and had very powerful A/C units. We were comfortable all night long on a hot night. We commented how it was one of the best looking motels in the area, it owned up to it. Staff was super friendly. Things you could work on would be better cable. 5 available channels now a days is unacceptable. For what you charge, get better cable. And more toiletries.

Poor wifi connection in our room. Dated rooms. Advantage is that it is close to city centre and cheap.

It's a decent place. It was a little over $100 a night during August. Ok but the staff kept opening the door on us.

The maid had to let me into my room as the front officr wasn't t staffed at 4pm. The hotel could be described as a Motel 4 1/2 at best. Carpets were stained badly and everything was extremely worn out and old. I tried to turne on the heat, but to no avail. 1.5 hours into my stay I saw the maid again and found out that somebody was finally available to check me in. I took my belongings and went to the office to check in and inquired about the heat. Well the heat wasn't turned on in the downstairs rooms and the lady proceeded to tell me that she was afraid the boiler for these rooms would blow up. She gave me a room on the second floor which had heat available. Once I got to the room I found out that it hadn't been cleaned yet, so I went back to the cold downstairs room. Half an hour later, so approximately 6pm, I got tired of waiting in the cold room and had a taxi take me to a restaurant in town. When I returned around 8 pm my room was just finished. The old beaten up baseboards worked somewhat and the mattress and sheets and filthy topper were probably original to the hotel when it was built in the 50s. I booked this hotel in a rush without reading reviews. A few days prior I paid the same amount for the Howard Johnson nearby which was really nice for the money, but sadly was sold out on my way out of town. Stay clear of the Grand Traverse Motel. It is an absolute dump!!!!

Friendly staff. Clean rooms. Plain and simple accommodations at an unbeatable price for the area. Would definitely recommend to friends.

Originally planned a camping trip around TC. 95°F day persuaded us to find a room with A/C for the night. This place was recently put in Travelocity and it was very inexpensive. Despite some poor reviews, the staff was extremely accommodating and our room was homely and comfortable. If you are in need of a place to sleep while you tour the city and don't want to spend big bucks this is your place.
