This is a neat little shop in the middle of nowhere. I really had been craving a matcha latte, and I needed a caffeine pick-me-up before a long drive. This was definitely the right place. They have a cute little coffee shop attached to their store. The store itself has tons of fresh, good looking produce, and all other types of healthy food. Pretty close to the freeway too :)
I've been coming to Goodwin's since a year after it opened while I was a graduate student at UCR. I've come to know the Goodwin family and some of their employees that are still around, and they're all great people.
The groceries and prepare food are expensive as you might expect from a boutique, all organic store; I can't really complain about that. I would rarely buy groceries save for the item I forgot to get while at Stater Bros.
The big draw for me is the coffee and drinks section. Despite the high prices on the rest of the items in the store, the coffee, smoothies, juices, etc. are affordable even for someone with low income like a college student.
My main complaint is the amount of time it takes to get a drink after placing the order. The drinks section is high traffic, so I understand having to wait patiently. However, these kids working back there are just too slow. If someone orders a drip coffee, you should turn around and pour it immediately. It shouldn't take 10 minutes to make a latte. I understand part of the problem is the disjointedness involved in ordering in one part of the store, walking to another to pay, then returning to get your drink only after presenting your receipt as proof. This system needs some revamping.
This place was awesome! Just Google mapped a place we could stop on the road to get lunch, and this place came up. So many great vegan options. We got the vegan burrito, and it was delicious! We also visited the shop and picked up some goodies for the trip. Will have to visit again.
Excellent quality produce. Local. Nice variety of organic fresh, canned, and frozen. Coffee, juice, smoothies at one end of the store. The store's kitchen, salad bar, soups, and bakery at the other end. Affordable membership gives discounts all year.
Good selection of items for the size of the store and that it's in the Inland Empire, not a place for health food stores, in general.
Prices are higher than a Sprouts, Whole Foods market but they try to give good service. They also sell freshly cooked organic foods, in case you don't want to go home and cook.
😊
The prices are higher than your normal grocery store but EVERYTHING is organic and the employees are very helpful
Food was ok. Workers are not that helpful. The setup of the store is unique but no one is there to guide you.
While it is bourgeois to I think a largly self-aware extent in terms of pricing and targeted demographic, getting past that, the food and coffee here is of legitimately good quality and the service in my experience has been very good and patient.
Not however the go-to place if you're like me (not about them price tags), or more generally a "starving college student" looking for a place to eat or groceries near UCR
My new favorite spot! Staff are very helpful and friendly. Food is delicious and of great quality.
I love goodwins!! I love eating there and shopping. You first order, then go and pay for your food/ drink, come back and show them your receipt and that's it. Great customer service, great selection. Up in the register the have a discounted cart, you can find some good stuff in there sometimes.
The deli has great tasting kale salad. The aromas in the deli are worth a visit. Eating their rainbow chard or bok Choi with a little sea salt sprinkled on top is a good energy booster and tastes great. They have the sweetest organic Fuji's. My wife likes the wellness shot with the energy drink when she starts feeling a little tired. It's a nice store with a good variety of items. And all organic so you don't have to read the labels.
💚 Good small organic store. Near the University. More veggie options than vegan in the Cafe. Price reflects healthier food
Awesome organic healthy and specialty foods. Great salad bar, hot foods, sandwiches, pizza, fresh juice, and coffee. Great place to buy groceries and have lunch. AND you get 10% of your first visit.
Everything is organic. No exceptions!!! Love it! Plus the customer service is good too! And the family that owns it really cares about their customers. Thank you!
Don't panic it's organic! Great selection of organic foods, raw dairy, and health suppliments. Store is always super clean and the staff is very friendly. They have a membership program if you are a frequent shopper here I recommend joining. The down side is higher prices, you pay for what you get, and what you get is pretty fantastic.
