Thanksgiving Day was awesome! The food was Great and the service was Great! The Turkey and ham were perfect, the mashed potatoes and sweet potatoes were great as usual. Enjoyed meeting people from other States and Pa. Also. Will come back year after Year :)

Food was very good. Didn't visit the smorgasbord went to the menu dining room. I had the chicken pot pie. It was so good. I also had the brown butter noodles. I could take them or leave them. They were good but I didn't think they were great. Also had applesauce. The portion of noodles and applesauce was a lot. More than I could eat. They had homemade bread and whipped butter that was to die for. I could have dined on that only. The staff was not very friendly. The woman checking people in was very snotty. Waitress also wasn't the friendliest but the food made up for it. The place was very busy and I didn't like the sardine feeling. We were packed in. Place was clean didn't visit the restroom so can't comment on that.

Can't say enough about how great the homemade food and friendly atmosphere are here! I've driven over 4 hours to eat here and every time it was worth the drive! Go with the Family style dinner. There's a ton of amazing food and I always get to meet great people from many different locations!

Place can absorb a huge influx of customers with ease. Very impressive. We choose the sit at the menu side of the house, versus the family style side, and it was more affordable to eat with small kids. They have a gluten free menu but you have to ask, should be more prominently referenced on their website and on their regular menu. Some front desk staff didn't even know about it. Food was good quality and tasty, came out fast. Lots of seating room.

We arrived for the last seating and definitely felt unwelcome. Two surly teenage girls complained that they had "already brought the hot food out" for another table and very rudely started throwing starter items on our table..then out server came over to say she was just on her way home when we were seated. We were brought into the dining room by the hostesswe didn't just wander in on our own and we paid close to $50 for this awful experienceif my husband wasn't so hungry I would have left right then!! We ate as quickly as we could as other diners (around 25 people) finished their desert and left. If we never see this place again, it will be too soon. I was only half way through my dinner plate when our server wanted to know what we wanted for dessert because the kitchen wanted to close..my husband's request for coffee was met with "maybe there is some left". And to top it all off because we were so rushed and could'nt enjoy all the food that was on our table, I asked the server what happens to it (there was a lot), she said a local farmer picks it up to feed to his pigs!!!! That's when my stomach flipped over and we left. A nightmare from beginning to end.

This was the second time there, last time was 12 years ago. We had lunch and ordered off the menu. Food was okay, served quick. We didn't realize that the chicken my 11 year old granddaughter ordered off the menu was on the bone, and she wanted chicken fingers. They were nice enough to place and order but it took so long to cook, we had to take it to go. I bought wheat bread from their bakery downstairs, it was very good. But I think I will try somewhere else next time we are in the Lancaster area

If you like under cooked chicken this is the place to go. This is a family style all you can eat place, or menu service. We chose to order from the menu. My wife order fried chicken, and I got a sampler platter. My wife’s chicken was very under cooked it was Red all the way though, she sent it back. The waitress brought more that was only slightly better, needless to say my wife didn’t eat it. The chicken on my platter was also under done, my meatloaf was flavorless, the pork and sauerkraut was super sour. The only thing we had the was good was the bread. Maybe the all you can eat or the family style service are the reason for the high ratings, it’s sure not because of the food. We ate here 42 years ago on our honeymoon maybe we’ll give it a try in another 42 years.

We did not do the family style, we ate off the menu, the food we chose was very good. The furnishings were comfortable yet 'traditionally old fashion' so more homey the restaurant like. I peeked in at the family style area, there were lots of long tables set up, so I'm guessing if it's full you sit with other people, not really my style. That price was a little high for us, we got plenty of food at a lower price off the menu.

Good food although for the price, the value comes mostly in the form of the experience. Family style dining means that you get to interact with people you don't know, and perhaps even make a new friend. Food is traditional Amish country food- buttered noodles, ham, pot pie, etc.

Lovely authentic Danish food with great service and decor. Also as I had my birthday a day before, my entire meal was made free by the owner as per their deal. Do try their fry chicken, its finger licking yummy.

I have been coming to Good & plenty every year for the past 16 years, 2 to 3 times a year. The food is always great and the service is wonderful. It is always a pleasant experience. However, our visit today started off bad because the elderly woman Becky at the desk was rude and not hospitable at all. I have been in the restaurant business over 20 years and I could never imagine letting someone with that attitude be the first impression you experience from this restaurant. Would have been 5 stars had we not encountered Becky today!!

"Delicious home-style food that is always fresh and there's plenty of it!!!"
Over the past 20-plus years, I've dined at Good 'n Plenty on an annual basis while visiting the Lancaster area. Unless you're anti-social, the family-style dining option is quite enjoyable. Kind of like what you'd experience on a cruise ship. Usually, people who frequent these types of establishments are quite friendly and enjoy engaging each other in friendly conversation while dining.
The food is very fresh and flavorful, with a very extensive country menu. Their fried chicken is stellar, as are the variety of vegetables.
It's pretty much "all you can eat" here (it's not cheap$25 for family-style) and trust meyou'll be full by the time the dessert comes around.
However, I am not impressed by their desserts and find them underwhelming.
All in all, it is a really nice dining experience. I recommend Good 'n Plenty anytime you're in the Lancaster area.response / report this review -

We had a very good time at Good and Plenty. Our server was excellent. They have a novelty store connected to the restaurant and it's a lot of fun. It was my birthday on the day we went. They have a birthday policy that the birthday persons food is of no charge and a 20% off coupon for the novelty store is given as a gift. I was very touched. It covered my meal, my drink and my dessert. The restaurant is in the middle of Amish Country I found an interesting display of signs that I had to take a picture of. I have included a picture of it
